Ive been using 2.2 - API 8 with success, but was wondering if I can compile a new APK using 4.0.3 - API 15 and that will work and be backward compatible? Paul Rogers Android Fan Posts: 2524 Reg: May 30, 2011 UK 35,740	05/10/12 05:13 PM (13 years ago) 2.2 is the minimum build level. 4.0.3 will be backwards compatible to 2.2 in that you'll be able to build it ok. Most features that work on 4.0.3 but not on lower levels usually degrade to an alternative compatible feature - for example, fragments (split screens) I believe degrade to X amount of seperate screens. Should just add, that you can't really do it with BTv1.4, the level is too low. I think that 2.2 (the first api to properly support tablets) is generally accepted as the lowest level for backwards compatibility of later versions. Comments Should go without saying Mark!
