Selling in an iOS app...

I have been following the problems that apps made with the the Dropbox SDK have had being rejected by Apple: http://www.macstories.net/stories/11-13-and-the-dropbox-sdk/ It all revolves around Apples rule 11.13 (or 11.14?) that says: "Apps that link to external mechanisms for purchasing content to be used in the app, such as a “buy” button that goes to a web site to purchase a digital book, will be rejected" I don't really get this. So you can't have an app that allows you to buy something unless it is an in app purchase? What about the eBay app? Surely every purchase in the eBay app isn't an in app purchase is it? Also what about AdMob adverts? Apple seems to allow them but they link to external purchases don't they? Anyone got a view on this?!

Hey Sepala, I think that issue with DropBox was just an error on Apple's part. I have a number of e-Commerce apps that sell clothes and pet goods accepted into the store within the past 2 weeks. These use PayPal etc. Thanks, // J

Sure, the other eCommerce one is actually better :P The one you mentioned is pretty buggy because I tried to implement it into their current system. You can PM me if you have any questions about implementing eCommerce.

The Dropbox issue is sorta complicated. From my upcoming Apple Review Guidelines article: 11.1 Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected
Comment: No 3rd party in-app purchase system allowed. Apple wants to enhance your app user experience by getting a 30% cut.
11.2 Apps utilizing a system other than the In App Purchase API (IAP) to purchase content, functionality, or services that are or can be used in an app will be rejected
Comment: This relates to features relating to the app only. If your app uses Skype any Skype purchase must go thru IAP.
11.3 Apps using IAP to purchase physical goods or goods and services used outside of the application will be rejected
Comment: IAP is only for unlocking new app features. To purchase non-app related goods or services use a 3rd party "in app purchase" solution such as ZooZ payments.
Potential problems: Since Skype can be used outside the app you can't use IAP.
Apple has begun rejecting any apps which depend on the Dropbox SDK because you could create or upgrade your Dropbox account. Can't use IPA to buy goods or services to be use outside the app.
Same with Google Docs, Skype _ _ _ _ _ _ So, apps that used Dropbox SDK are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Fred PS Don't ask about Netflix, they're special.

Yes you can make an app with an iPad. But, Creating the app icon via the Control Panel, I haven't been able to accomplish.

Hi @Devine logic Have a look through the forum and click on the names I the active BuzzTouchers to see their profiles. Some have added a Developer Profile giving details of what skills and experience they have and some list their published apps for you to see.
