I too have the same issue. BT 1.5 Android. I have generated my MD5 fingerprints and googlemaps api debug and release keys which I input into strings.xml The README.txt refers to removing comments but I cannot see them in BT 1.5. myskylla states this may not be necessary in 1.5. The outcome is pins but no map. I have a S2 Galaxy connected directly as I thought it was the emulator. I have an app running 1.4 and the map appears perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

Cheers Fred for info. Question: I already have a debug.keystore in use for google map api in BTv1.4. I have created a new keystore called myapp2debug.keystore / myapp2release.keystore with alias androiddebugkey2 and androidreleasekey2. Both keystores are save in .android folder. Is this ok or is it conflicting? BT v1.4 still works with google map screen Still no map, just markers!

Hi. I am using 2.0 and followed instructions to obtain release key, I replaced the default "your maps api key" or whatever the text was in the release key string in the res folder. I have left the debug string set to the default "your api key" or whatever the text was. I have compiled a release apk, setting the debugging option in the manifest to false. I have installed the apk on my galaxy s2 but still grey tiles. I just can't figure out what im doing wrong. any further help would Be great. thanks

I tried deleting the entire debug key line of code but this just filled project with errors. i have not inserted any debug key , only release key. Is it right to delete the entire line of code for the debug key? This is what i would like to know. as i said it fills it with errors. Im at work at the moment. might just start from scratch and go through whole process again from start to finish when i get home. this little problem is all that's standing between me and a finished app. hope i can figure out what im doing wrong. Thanks Fred. i appreciate your help and as far as i can see i have done what you are saying but can you perhaps offer any other advice on what it may be that i am missing. thanks again

I tried deleting the entire debug key line of code but this just filled project with errors. Leaving the line untouched is probably best. If changed return to premodified state. i have not inserted any debug key , only release key. CORRECT Is it right to delete the entire line of code for the debug key? See above Fred

"I have not inserted any debug key, only release key. CORRECT" This is exactly what i did. i guess i will start over and create new keystore and obtain new api key and try again. I just can't see where i have gone wrong

You should not need new keystore or new API key, just correct use. Are you following my how to ?

Hi. thanks for your reply Fred and thanks for your patience. I think i followed it correctly. I exported app and created the keystore. I used keytool in eclipse and obtained the fingerprint from the created keystore I used this to get map api key I pasted key to replace release key text in string.xml i changed the android manifest debug option to false and compiled it and used existing keystore I created for the api key. have i missed something

First things first: You only need one release key per developer (that's you). You may wish to use one key per client, and in a rare situation a separate key for a particular app. You DON'T need to create a debug key or Google maps debug API key (It only leads to problems, best to delete and pretend you never did it.) When you say, "both are saved in the Android folder". I don't have a Android folder, so I have no clue what you mean by that. BTv1.4 does work with Google maps, but every time I created a BTv1.4 app the maps Java file gave me errors so I haven't created a BTv1.4 map. Others have. I started with BTv1.5 Android and haven't really done much with BTv1.4. I really stopped using BTv1.5 and see BTv2.0 as the only version worth using. The only thing BTv2.0 Android I'd missing is Headers (I see light at the end of the tunnel) and Menu (list with icons). Fred

Ok i have thrown in the towel for another evening. i followed instructions on myskylla and obtained a debug key. I have maps running in emulator no problem now after following the how to get debug key. I done same thing to get a release key and followed instructions again inserting release key and changing manifest but still getting blank map on my galaxy s2. Don't know what else to try now as tried all info available and used only release key as advised. Any indication of what i might be missing instead of just pointing me to a "how to" would be great thanks.

Hi. Just thought i would update you. I have got home from work and set screen_map .xml android:api to release and all is working fine. sorry Fred I mis-read that part in your awesome guide thinking it only applied to 1.4 apps. thanks for help.
