Recording your app for video trailer

I just posted on YouTube my first app trailer. It was a bit of a struggle finding a way to record the app action to include in the trailer, so I wanted to share how I resolved the problem. I found some easy to use software on the Mac App Store called, "Sound Stage". The rest is done with Garage Band and iMovie. Here is the YouTube link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u63sfQUF3U

Wow, that is indeed impressive! Actually gave me an idea for a new app just by watching it! How did you get the different pin colors problem resolved? Mark

looks great, nice vid. with 10,000+ lakes - bet that app has a ton of screens! have to check that Sound Stage program out, thanks for the tip. I'd also be curios to know about the different color map pins.

Thank you, everyone! The pin colors work just fine on iOS. The pin colors do not work on Android. I have two different applications in buzztouch as a workaround. There are other features that do not work in 1.5--quizzes and wrapping text on the menus--so I decided to cut and paste everything over. It is a lot of redundant work, but if it wasn't for buzztouch I wouldn't have an app like this at all! So I don't mind the duplicate efforts. (I plan to upgrade to 2.0 self-hosted.) I struggled with how do display the app on a video, and went down several dead ends in the various on-line communities. Here is the url to the solution I finally found: http://soundstageapp.com/ Jim, I see you are in Minnesota....cool! Thank you for buying the app, and let me know if you see anything to fix. There is a ton of content in the app so it is hard to keep it up. I also have a little survey on the lakes going on right now, and if you respond to my survey you could win a $25 amazon gift card. Go to http://minneapolislakesapp.com and click on the survey button.

Thanks for the TIP! I lived on Phelps Island in Mound for about 10 years while working with Verne Gagne. Loved the area and Minneapolis Lakes. Good luck. Mike

It is kind of funny, but if the app is good it is because the Minneapolis lakes are awesome! I started a Lake Minnetonka app but didn't get it done before spring. The western lakes around Minnetonka and Mound would be a great app.
