I've just recently signed up on Buzztouch.. and am trying to develop android apps from here. I have an HTC android, and Windows 7 64bit PC. I'm trying to make a reference app for android. There's this website called webehigh.com ... it's not been updated since 2008.. and I've downloaded the complete site to my pc, and the the "city" pages come to be about 252 mb total in size. I know this large size for an app won't be good and neither is the php pages along with their advertisements and links. So I got an idea, that I should extract only the text from these pages, and make a separate txt file for each city. For eg., Hong Kong comes to be about 185 kb on the php, while only the text from that page is about 15kb. So that's almost 10% less!! And hong Kong's a large text info page... unlike most pages on that website, which are only 7kb per city. So the total would land around 10-15 mb. Not sure if that's find for distributing, but if done, this will an offline version of the website! Anyways, I wanted to create this reference app in which I could ask user input and then find the relevant text file from sd card on the phone and display it within the app. Is it a good idea? I intend to keep this app free, and by creating this, I really want to learn creating apps further so that I can create some paid apps too! For now, I'm not sure how to start creating this app.. Also, I saw on the account landing page that I was only allowed about 300 views of my app.. what does that mean? If I view my app, would that count as a view? Or is the view related to other members on here viewing my app? Didn't understand this.. Could someone provide help? Thanks. Title Comments Hi!
