Anyone here made Game apps using Eclipse?

Im thinking of making a game using eclipse, how far can i go using java or html to make a game? What did you use? What was used for games like angry birds and popular games like that...Im a fast learner so all i need to know is the grounds of it and i can start building up from there

For work I did bunch of Android games using Cocos2d: http://code.google.com/p/cocos2d-android/ Have a look, and see if its something you can use.

What about using Gamemaker from Yoyogames? It wouldn't be in eclipse, but you could use html5.

ill check it out, i looked at what gamesalad was about, its 300 a year which is alot for me at the moment, cocos2d is free and i checked out a few tutorials on how to use it, and it seems like its cool, but would be pretty hard at first to learn gamesalad you can use the free version and charge for apps but you cant have iADs in it, plus even if you charge for an app in the free version theres still an add for gamesalad in it in the beginning and end of the app when u open and close not sure which is the best choice for me right now also @coderx may i take a look at the games you made using cocos2d?

I use the Construct2 HTML5 game engine for Android. Very simple and flexible to use for beginners, but can have functionality in almost any way possible when you're an experienced user - and it can be added to BT projects using a custom url pointing to the assets folder, so games can be played offline if you like. Free demo and only 79 dollars for a commercial license. It's also got an active and helpful forum with tons of tutorials and demos. www.scirra.com

@ceerup: http://goo.gl/VhZXO <= This one I just finished, personal project and did all in cocos2d for iphone. If you take the time and learn, I think you would enjoy cocos2d, not to mention there are tutorials everywhere now.

It's worth at least a look ceerup. Not being a coder I've been really frustrated with lots of game engines, from cocos2d to jmonkey to darkbasic and loads of others. I know they're good but I just don't understand them. Construct2 was the first one I could understand and actually produce games that work!

79 total. I paid up about 2 days into using the demo! It's html5, so any platform, even facebook games.

The free demo is pretty good too. It'll add a construct2 splashscreen at the start, and there's a limit to the amount of events you can use, but good games can still be made. It's very similar to GameSalad, but cheaper and for windows.

im pretty much leaning towards game salad, the 300 dollars will be worth it plus the 99 a year developing, i am going to invest in it, and if the outcome makes me more than 400 dollars a year and im not losing any money then its okay

@ceerup thanks. good luck on the game making process and keep us posted. I'm curious what platform you will go with and of course what you come up with :)
