Dropbox SDK

Does anyone have any experience with integrating the Dropbox SDK into a BT app? Just doin out about it and think it could be quite cool. Just wanted to see if anyone here has used it before...

Hi Sepala, I don't know how to implement the Dropbox SDK, but recently I heard that more and more apps that contain the Dropbox API are rejected by Apple. This has something to do with in app purchases not allowed by Apple. Read here more about it: http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=59350 http://www.techspot.com/news/48425-apple-rejects-dropbox-apps-companies-working-to-resolve-differences.html Best of luck!

Hi Vali Thanks for the heads up. I read that too... I am assuming that they will come to some kind of agreement... or hoping at least as it is a cool function

Hi, don't know if you are still interested in the Dropbox SDK.. Anyway, integrating the SDK is a real headache if you are using the Buzztouch method. You need to delve right into the .m and .h files to get it to work. I assume that you want to share certain files so that the user can save them to his/her dropbox account? If yes then I have a method for doing that in v2.1 of my app (which is currently still getting tweaked in Xcode before submitting to Apple later tonight). To share a pdf doc. 1. show the pdf doc using the webview screen and for the nav bar options choose Right NavBar Button "SAVE" 2. Configure the Nav Bar button (Save) to open a custom URL screen. 3. Configure the Custom URL screen to load the dropbox link URL for the file you wish to share. 4. The user is presented with the option to save to dropbox. It only seems to work if you put the file (on dropbox) in a folder and get the link URL to that folder. Use this link to view screen shots of how this works with my app. http://db.tt/UDEER8aF Hope that's of use

That's pretty sweet! I can think of some good uses for this. I may hit you up in the future for a more detailed tutorial! Mark

No bother, v.2.1 is now with Apple so fingers crossed it gets approved for sale again! it's quite a simple technique as the dropbox url itself presents the user with options to save to dropbox or direct download (view the pdf, ppt etc file on iOS). The dropbox URL is also rendered nicely for mobile browsers. Good luck with your apps, Mark
