Home Screen blank

I created a simple home screen with one row (email to) as per the video for the first app. When I download it to Eclipse (for android), I simply get a blank home page on the emulator (google 2.2)and on my android phone. Even if I change the background color, it is just a black screen. However, if I make the home screen a button menu, the emulator still shows a blank screen but my phone shows the button. I'm using BT 2.0 and downloading to Eclipse Indigo R2 - Java EE IDE for Web Developers. My phone is an HTC EVO 4G run 4.03 android. I'll be so happy if I can just get a link to be visible on my emulator :-) Thank you in advance, Dan

Hi Dan, So, you've created a home screen with a Menu List, and that menu list has one item in it, which is connected to a Email Us screen? Or are you trying to make the Email Us screen as the default screen? If that's the case, I'm not sure that's supported. Just to convince you this all works, here is what I would do: * Create a Menu List screen, and add a row called PDF * Create a PDF screen, and configure the Menu List to link to that screen * Make the Menu List screen your home screen. Now rebuild your app in Eclipse, and it should be good! You may have to hit Refresh All Data to pick up the changes in your configuration file, but it should be working. Mark

The Email Us screen is not a screen, it's an Action. Screen is commonly use for Action, but it's not the same thing. A Screen will have a .xml file, something to display. An Action has no .xml file, hence nothing to display. So by using a Email Us Action (with nothing to display) as a home screen (tabbed layout screens are multiple home screens), then you see nothing as you request the app to display. Read Buzztouch Screens for more info on other Action screens. www.myskylla.com Fred

GoNorthWest, Feeling pretty dumb here :-) (yeah yeah, I know I'll be laughing tomorrow at how easy this is) BUT, until I start laughing... I created a home screen, non-tabbed with HOME as the home screen and it has 1 row named PDF. On the PDF screen I added a single asset called test.pdf. Both my emulator and phone just show a blank screen.

If you did as stated above simply refresh the app and it should show the Menu (list) with the row. To show the PDF it needs to be added to the Source Code or linked via URL.

Yep, as Fred says, you need to refresh the app (Refresh All Data) and it should show (except the actual PDF file, which you need to include with the build). One way to make sure that you stay in sync with what you've done in your Control Panel is to copy the configuration data (there's a link for that in your control panel), and paste it into the BT_Config.txt file on your computer. Then build the app again. It should work then! If you're still stuck, you can send your download package to me at MrkFleming at gmail dot com and I can run it to see what's up. Mark

GNW, Sending zip file to you - cta1.zip Fred, I've uploaded the test.pdf file to the application and it may work once I find the menu option to click on :-)
