Deprecation Warnings

Hello again all. I get the following deprecation warnings when I run my app. From what I've read in this forum, it an ios version thing and its not a big deal. When I set my target device to 3.0 no warnings. At anything bove 3.0 I get warnings. Where should I keep my target device when I submit my app? Will setting to 3.0 make it perform any differently when running on a newer ios version. If I leave the target at 5.1, will apple not approve my app because of the deprecations? Thank again for all of the help

Not at all. If you have latest package downloaded you are good. When you build - archive - for publishing you can also check the binary before submitting. iOS 3 means more folk can download your app, make sense? A lot of people on old 3G devices and jailbroken phones will not have latest iOS installed

Hey Calypso, Unless there is a particular feature in a particular version of iOS that your app takes advantage of, I think you should always target the lowest version you can, because it increases the possible number of people who can run your app. As far as I know, Apple will still approve your app even if there are deprecation warnings. Those warnings are exactly that...warnings, and won't prevent your code from running. It just means that some of the code is being replaced by more recent code. Give this a read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deprecation Bottom line...target the lowest, don't worry about deprecation warnings, as long as your app still compiles! Mark

You guys are awesome! Buzztouch is awesome! I was thinking backwards. FIgured that if I made the target the newest iOS version that it would just work on the previous versions. I set it to 3.0 and it works fine on my iPhone v5.1. Thanks again.
