Hi BT gang, I need you help with a question not related to BT. Does anybody know of a service or Joomla, WP or others, template that would allow me to build a site to showcase apps? I know how to showcase my own apps in my site. The thing I want to build is a site to present all the apps from a certain category or country or developer. So a back end solution would be appropriate. For example, in order to add a new app to the front page, I would only need the app ID#. This would put it in the correct category(let's say Sports)and show it on the front page. Thanks for any suggestions!! Vali

You can use atom feeds generated by the app store. Apple has a atom feed generator. Then you could use wordpress or joomla to display the feed.

Hi Stobe, Just got off the Itunes RSS site and as it is not a bad service, it is not what I'm looking for. I need a more in depth solution. Itunes only generates feeds on the different categories they have in the Store. I want to be more flexible in the site. Thanks for your quick reply though :)

Oh, ok. Then you want to lookup "App Store Assistant", which is a plugin for Wordpress. You can give it an atom feed for full categories, or you can give it an app ID for a single entry.

No problem. I just found it today, actually. I got the single app to work fine, but its not doing anything for me when I give it a feed. If you get that to work, let me know. There was no support info on the author's webpage, but his site does show it working.

I'll sure update you on this. If it does not work, maybe we can combine the single app functions of this WP plug in and the RSS feeds from iTunes. Just have to make sure the output from both sources have the same design.

They are both build in to that plugin. Plus music and mac app store as well.

And you can add your Linkshare account info in it (and if you don't have a Linkshare account, I can give you my ID to add to it! :)

It worked ! Thanks a lot Stobe. Take a look: http://www.second-skin.ro/site/ On the Apps menu there are two items: Apps: Two articles using the iOS app ID Top25: One article using the RSS links from iTunes. It works flawless. Now I just need to tweak the plug in to make it language friendly :)

Found another one, also for Wordpress: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/app-display-page/ This one is for single App IDs only, but does its job well.
