Stealing Content or App Ideas

Hello All. As a newbie I'm concerned about someone else using my content and app idea after its made public in the iOS app store or any app store for that matter. Does Apple or Android have anything in place to curb the duplication on someone else's content or layout. I know this is kind of paranoid but I'm putting a lot of work into this app and I would hate to see someone else just basically copy it and put on the market. Thanks for your input.

If you're creating copyrightable material and some else violates your copyright you can have Apple remove their app. If you're concerned about come copying the idea, that's not copyrightable. From US Copyright Office: How do I protect my idea? Copyright does not protect ideas, concepts, systems, or methods of doing something. You may express your ideas in writing or drawings and claim copyright in your description, but be aware that copyright will not protect the idea itself as revealed in your written or artistic work. Don't publish and no one will steal or ever hear of your idea. If your market is limited and very well defined a non-discloser could possibly be useful. Fred

Is it possible just to reserve the app-name before finishing the work? Is that difficult or is it simple? I´m a newbie so I´ve not reached that moment yet... :-) -Alfie-

You can "reserve"(waiting for uploda) your name in itunes connect and you have somtime (1 or 2 month) to upload your app.

I think the time limit on registering your app name to submitting is 120 days. If you do not upload the app within that time frame you lose the app name in iTunes Connect and can never register it again under that dev account.
