Another Approval!

Third app approved, and one for all you Prisoner fans out there: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-prisoner-compendium/id521158554?ls=1&mt=8 That's three approved and one rejected/re-submitted. This Prisoner app went from 'in review' to 'approved' in just over one hour, the weird thing is that the re-submit for the previously rejected app has been 'in review' for about four days - maddening! Would love to know what kind of crazed processes go down at Apple Towers.

Nice job! Yea, the review process can get a bit frustrating. A resubmit for me has always gone right back into Review and stayed there for 4-7 days until it gets reviewed again. Good luck

Thanks ATRAIN, and copyright stuff is a good question. It's important NEVER to infringe copyright, but this doesn't stop you building apps around popular or copyrighted topics. For example if you want to build an app around, say, a popular app or movie, you will find that images etc. can be licensed from agencies such as Corbis or Getty which gives you the chance to purchase usage rights for your app and enhances your design. Also you can 'point' your app to copyrighted material without reproducing it (which would be infringing rights) where the copyright holder has made the material available. With some old shows, for example, where much of the value has been squeezed to the limit over time, studios are now making them available on YouTube and collecting ad revenue on the views. 'Pointing' or linking to these is helpful to the copyright holder as it drives viewers to them and they collect on the ad revenue/click-through purchases (you collect nothing, unfortunately, but hey, it's their copyright, they're entitled to the lot). The value to you is that adds functionality and helpfulness to your app. The video player in my app is the YouTube video plugin from the ever wonderful Buzz Touch! So it's not actually within the app - just takes you to youtube. Obviously, Youtube itself polices copyright pretty vigorously, so you should always be on safe ground.

Awesome job dude! a comment about this: "This Prisoner app went from 'in review' to 'approved' in just over one hour, the weird thing is that the re-submit for the previously rejected app has been 'in review' for about four days - maddening!" I AGREE! I have the same problem with my adwords on google and other stuff as well....makes you wonder what "order" (if any, they are checking stuff)
