Developer Acct - Expiration. Do the apps go to app heaven?

This is a tiered question, kinda like a fancy cake. All hypothetical - not happened yet - but I just want to understand the rules. 1) Suppose Joe's Tire Repair wants an app. 2) Suppose I put one together and receive the bleak "apps that are total marketing will be rejected, based upon... yadda yadda 3) In light of this, I tell Joe, "just sign up for a dev acct." 4) Joe adds me to his acct to update and submit his app. 5) Joe's app is approved because apple received their $99 payment 6) Suppose a year from now, Joe says "$99 bucks - no way." Joe doesn't renew his dev acct. Question: what happens to Joe's Tire Repair app if he doesn't keep his acct active. Note: I apologize for the repetitive supposing

If Joe's Tire Repair can't handle $99/year for marketing, they should just stick with the wooden A-frame sign on the side of the road. (figuratively) A very successful business person once told me: if a potential client does not think a product or service provided by you is worth the money you need to provide it, you are better off sending them downstream to someone who's offering that same product or service at a lower cost. (in this example, the Android store) Ha! I just made myself chuckle.

A year ago I let my iPhone dev account expire. My app "FoodWorkout" was off the App store. I renewed it, and it was back up. It's all about the $99 Smackers.

Excellent - thanks folks. Joe better pick it up a bit in the shop.
