2nd BT App Approved!

Just a quick post to say that my 2nd BuzzTouch app has just been approved and is in the app store: http://t.co/6Xw2HBWq Thanks again to the amazing guys at BT! This one is quite simple so probably quite obvious how everything is done but feel free to ask any questions. It is free for now so please download and any feedback is most welcome!

Nice, simple and clean! I like it! Looks like it's very easy to find the info you'd be looking for. Congratulations! Mark

Very nice! Hearty congratulations to you. Did you use BT 1.5 or BT Server for this app? Also, how did you handle the directory? I also like your Red app. I showed it to a realtor this weekend as an example of what could be done! Kudos. Cheryl

Thanks very much to both of you! Cheryl- I used v1.5 on buzz touch.com for both apps. For the directory and the events sections I just used a wordpress site. I used Wordpress plugins, played around with the styling so it looked good on a mobile device, then those pages are just links to that wordpress site. Much more simple than a full on backend database! If anyone else is interested here is the first buzzTouch app I got accepted- http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/red-residential/id515246697?mt=8

Good stuff! How did you do the tour in Pepys London app? I had an idea for an app that would revolve around tours. Mark

Hi Mark For the maps in Pepys' London I used the Google Maps API. It is really great and allows you to create google maps in a HTML document using javascript. That was my first ever app and I was new to Google Maps and javascript, so it is quite basic but there are loads of cool things you can do. I used polylines to show the route, markers to pinpoint locations and info windows to display info on each marker. Learning how to use the google maps API took a while as I was starting with very little knowledge, but very was rewarding and the google guides and documentation are very good: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/

@Sepala...good stuff...thanks for the pointer! I've done some work with the Google Maps API, but not enough. More motivation to get me back there! Mark
