Eclipse - Google Maps Issue, how to get the coding right to make it work

Okay, this is how my AndroidManifest.xml looks (which I thought was right): </activity> <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps" /> </application> </manifest> It has a red "x" on the </activity> though...any ideas? I am really struggling to get the mapping abilities to work with the app. Btw, I am using v2.0 and Eclipse Indigo.

Hi Carrie, That looks correct for AndroidManifest.xml. Did you apply the Google Map API keys to the strings.xml file? Here is a doc that shows what to do, and how to get the keys: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Obtaining_a_Google_Maps_API_Key_v1.0.pdf And a doc about signing, in case you're not familiar with that: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Signing_Android_Apps_v1.0.pdf This should help a bit. Let me know if you still run into problems. Mark

Mark, Funny, I was just about to update this to say that I figured out my problem and that I forgot to add the API Key's to the strings.xml. I am all set with that now. New Problem: As I had said before, I am trying to get tracks that I have saved in "my maps" on google maps to appear within my app. I got the google maps feature working and tracking using the "Launch Native App" screen but it will not show my tracks. I don't know if you are familiar with creating tracks within google maps but they give you a URL that directs you to that exact track. I have checked it within my browser (both on my computer and device)and it works fine (takes me right to my track), but when I use that URL in the "Launch Native App" it will not show the track. Any suggestions???

Hi Carrie, Unfortunately I don't have any experience with tracks, but totally want to learn! So, I'm glad to be subscribed to this thread. Mark
