iPhone Simulator Blank ! First timer

Hi Gang, I have just downloaded Xcode to my Mac 10.6.8 and have started an App and downloaded the code. Followed all instructions. The simulator opens but there is no title showing and no refresh arrow. Can anyone please advise me what to do from here? Also another question (not Xcode related), can I build Apps on Buzztouch that I distribute privately and not through Apple and Google etc? Thanks in advance Lewis

Do you have any content in the app? Stupid question I know. You can distribute apps without being in App Store or Play. You can mail Android apps to folk to be installed on devices if the device is set to install unsigned apps. Jailbroken phones - Cydia - can also take your apps and submit bypassing the App Store. Hope some of this helps and welcome!

Did you drag the plug-ins folder into your build in Xcode?

Hi Guys and thanks for the responses, I loaded a map and a couple of blank pages with the idea that I'd add to them and see how it looks on the simulator. I'm building my first App just to learn how all this works. I did not drag the plugins folder into the build in Xcode and have had a look around and can't see how to do that. Would you be able to give me some directions please? I work with local businesses and I want to create Apps for some of them to pass on to their customers. Can these apps be distributed using a QR Code? Or a link? Also wondering if push notifications can be built in (will keep going with the training videos!). Thanks

Are you using BT Server? If not no need to drag plugins.

Now I did it... Building on BT's Server and using BuzzTouch Server are two different things. I am guessing as you are just starting out so you are using BT's Backend. What version of a new app did you select? You can open Xcode and look at the folders within your project. What folders do you see?

Read the instructions.pdf that is in your downloaded app package. It will tell you how and where to drag the folders.

open up the zip file you downloaded from BT. In it you will see the project that you double clicked to open Xcode and also several folders. If you have both Xcode and the finder window with the folders open, just select the folders and drag them into the Xcode project. The folders should be BT_Plugins, BT_Images, BT_Sound, BT_Video, BT_Docs Once you have these in there, just re-run the sim and you should be good.
