Hiring Developer to Create Buzztouch plugins

Hi to any developer that can help, I'm looking for someone who can develop a few Buzztouch plugins for my account and I'm willing to pay. I have tried creating the plugins my self but its just beyond my skill level. Anyone willing to help, please leave a message and I will follow you on Buzztouch and send a private email to you to discuss. I have to say i am a little confused that there is no Buzztouch shop to buy plugins to add to our accounts, hint hint! Kind Regards Las

Hi, I would like to respond to your topic, but only about your "hint hint" I hope that plug-ins will not be paid, as they are developed for everybody from anybody. Therefore, I believe that there is no reason why plug-ins should be paid. Just my opinion... Anthony

Actually, I believe the BuzzTouch gang originally decided on the plugin design method to expand the capabilities of apps. And I think they said early on that it would be ok for someone to create them and share them, or even to create them to be sold as well. At this point, its a matter of supply and demand. The demand is high for expanded capability. Especially in the light of numerous Apple rejections. I think it would be a natural progression for some plugins to be "premium" and therefore be charged for. (especially if the original poster says they are willing to pay. In the end, its really up to the coder of the plugin. (along with the graces of the BT team, of course).

Hi Guys not sure what to say, as it wasn't the response I wanted see. However I feel that if someone is prepared to pay and in which I am happy to do so, I believe that's fine. Secondly, I want to make money from the apps I develop, therefore I see this as an investment and who is to say that I wouldn't share it with others in the Buzztouch community as many of you have been extremely helpful through my learning. Everyone has their own individual goals, motivation or whatever it is that drives them and I want someday to create an app that is seriously mind blowing experience. Don't You? Oh! Buy the way, did I mention I still require someone to develop a Buzztouch Plugin. lol! Anyway Peace & Love!

Hi, I'm sorry I can't help you with a developer but wanted to respond on the discussion about paid plugins. I totally agree with Dragon007. If you don't want to pay, just don't buy it. I think if we want some serious (extra) plugins to extend the functionality of our apps we need serious developers. Serious developers are hard to find and if you find one you gotta pay for their skills, which I find very normal. If this community is growing further and further, serious developers will find the way to buzztouch and will develop free and commercial plugins. You see it with all open source projects. Joomla (CMS) for example is free software developed by the community. It provides lots of free, but also, commercial extensions. And just like some of us who want to make money by creating an app, there will be companies who wants to make money by developing plugins. I can't speak for the bt-gang but it isn't unthinkable that, in the future, they will develop (free)lite-plugins and commercial (paid)full versions. At the moment I'm putting a lot of effort in creating a plugin that would benefit this whole community. If I ever finish this plugin it will probably be sold as a commercial plugin to get back some money for the time of developing. I could also hire a developer to develop some plugins. I'd pay a huge amount for the development and could keep the plugins to myself. I could also sell it to get back my investment or make profit from it. It's just a business-model. Thing is that if this community is growing and growing it will be inevitable that commercial plugins will be offered. Everyone is free to buy them or not. Best Regards, Danny

100% with Dragon, Las and Danny, if it's a hobby, then free plugins will probably do, if it's a business, then paying for premium plugins to offer extra services to our clients will just make us more money and our client will be happy. Also the time factor, learning to do it ourselves is maybe possible, but how much time will it take ? Could be using that time to get clients, make docs, building apps, etc.

It is clear that this type of debate is in the back of many minds and I guess for many long time Buzz users a store like facility for plugins can't come soon enough. The point made by Paddy above is pretty much spot on, my time is precious. I really do hope a solution will come soon as I think we would all benefit.

What type of plugins are you looking for? Might be a good idea to post in the Wish list,Suggestions forum category for future BT reference

I personally expect some plugins to be paid for...and that's great. Personally I would love a plugin that is a "Combo menu" for iPads. This allows a "List" style menu down the left 1/3rd of the iPad screen, with content displayed on the right 2/3ds of the iPad screen. This is common and/or standard for most iPad apps, and the lack of this format makes iPad apps look a little less Secondly, would like a plugin that allows a finger-scrollable photo, like the list of announcers in David's Telediario app.

Cool discussion here, for sure. I'll toss the my two cents, you can consider them the "BT Position" on plugins. We all want the same thing - more plugins. This is a very very important concept and not one to be taken lightly. We originally thought we could create all the plugins you could ever want but quickly realized that we cannot. We could if we wanted folks to learn how to create generic, cookie cutter apps - we don't. Because of this, we re-engineered the entire process (v2.0) and re-focussed on how we could make this best / easiest / most professional for everyone. Ultimately what it boiled down to was a great app management tool on buzztouch.com or yoursite.com, a LONG list of available plugins, training and education for those interested in learning how to make plugins, and a relationship with other developers and mobile enthusiasts. The new site was step one. It's coming along nicely. The next step is BTU. It's also coming along nicely but not yet ready for the masses. The next step will be an organized, efficient, and understandable way to find and discover additional plugins. Today, anyone can make a plugin and advertise it on their site, in their profile, Facebook Page, anywhere really. It's not as easy as it could be but it's doable. We are not against people creating and selling plugins or services - it makes perfect sense for some. Profiting from your work is 100% OK as far as we are concered. We may or may not have a "paid" plugin area on our site. It is likely that we will highlight user created plugins regardless of whether they are free or not. I literally have a list of 50-75 plugins that I would love to make. Before I can make them, the site (things mentioned above) needs to be the priority. When we get BTU rolling, and folks understanding the process a bit more, we'll get back into the plugin creation phase. One of the biggest challenges (from our end) is the number of issues that arise when new users try to use sophisticated plugins. This is the reason the v2.0 plugin list is relatively short. It's important that new users experiment with the process with simple plugins. This increases their chances for success in understanding the system. For sure simple plugins rarely create amazing apps but that's an entirely different goal. Goal one - help new users understand the basics. Goal 2 - help users understand the difference between basic, newcomer apps and sophisticated, high quality apps. High quality is easier when you have TONS of plugins to choose from but it's not the only thing to consider. So...roll-out BTU (we are getting close), focus on helping folks make plugins, get to making more ourselves! @Dragon007: What is it that you're looking to create?

Hi David its fantastic that you have picked up on this discussion and your input is very valuable; I was unaware when I started this topic that I would provoke such a reaction which is great. This will probably make you laugh, but all I want is a'Image Carousel View' as a menu option. I think this will improve the experience of any apps developed on the platform. I have someone who has already offered their services and if this person and I are able to work together and achieve this goal, I would consider sharing the plugin, but I would want the blessing from Buzztouch and the community to possibly resell the plugin to others. I would also like to stress that I wouldn't be unreasonable in cost as I have had so much help and advice from the community already that I wouldn't dream of abusing that. I just want to create the very best app possible and let everyone know that it was built using Buzztouch. I have a few more plugins I would also like to introduce, but seriously many of the plugins currently available are fantastic and do the job very well but I feel a few more key ones would make all the difference. Could we not consider rolling out a pilot scheme? The guys who started Buzztouch Mods, had the right idea but in my opinion went about it the wrong way from reading some very early post. If you would like to know how I would setup the pilot scheme, I'm happy to tell you, but I understand that this is not high on your list of priorities for now.

Hi Dragon007, Love this thread. I contributed a couple of plugins at buzztouch mods. It was right in the beginning when I started exploring buzztouch. Lots of people are using them right now. The idea was to centralize some completed missions (plugins, mods, tutorials) because the where hard to find on the forum that was used at that time. Could you please tell what you mean by: "The guys who started Buzztouch Mods, had the right idea but in my opinion went about it the wrong way from reading some very early post." to avoid 'mistakes' in the future Where did we went wrong? Best Regards, Danny

Hi Danny first I hope my comments haven't caused offence, if it has I apologies. What I meant by the comment was, when I first started using Buzztouch around the time the mod site was setup, I was reading some of the threads in regards to the site and it appeared to me that maybe there were those who were unhappy with what you guys were doing, however this is just my opinion and I guess I thought that maybe you guys were stepping on some toes and what I thought was a great idea, I was starting think this may not work. Again just my thoughts. In moving forward to help all Buzztouch users, may be places like the mod site can offer paid plugins but also offer a fee for installation as many, such as myself are not skilled enough to add these plugins and getting them to work. Having paid plugins may encourage developers to create plugins for the platform as I accept that some of this work will be time consuming and in cases very difficult. I think for me there are a few challenges; someone can make a lot of money here but should that be Buzztouch or people like your self that has seen an opportunity to move things forward or both in a partnership. For me I will pay whoever can help me achieve my goals. As my girlfriend would say, its not about the price but the value it brings.

Danny, I believe he is speaking of the one thread MacApple attacked us with - he has very smooth words compared to us! Dragon, no offense taken! Everyone has the right for opinions - were just glad to be able to help and contribute to the buzz touch community - were ecstatic that we almost have 3000 downloads for our plugins/mods (thanks to PSMDanny)! In my opinion, I believe paid (and free!) buzztouch plugin sites will appear on the internet at some point - every single successful site that offers the ability for customization like plugins (wordpress, php-nuke, php-fusion, smf, ect) have it's share of third party sites to "compliment" the main one - that's the way of the internet! The best thing we can do on our side (and this is my promise) is to make sure we offer the best quality possible, encourage development, keep things free & simple, and keep credits to developers and creators when possible. If you have ANY suggestions to our mistakes, or to fix the "wrong way" we went on going through with that (again NO offense taken) then please feel free to email me and I'll get back to you personally. david . shelechi @ gmail . com Take care, David http://buzztouchmods.com

@Dragon007 a) You have all the blessings you need form us to have the "Carousel View" created - then offer it for sale if you want. You're welcome to do whatever you want (regarding selling / giving it away). b) For sure we would love to see this get created and do wish we could put it higher in the priority list. I'de be interested to see the solution for iOS or Android or both. c) Pilot program - not sure what you mean here but appreciate the consideration. Send an email to info 'at' buzztouch.com with details about this idea if you think we could help you help us ;-)
