design solutions

Ok I might be able to work a lot of what i am asking out with a lot of time but i thought i would ask first for some advise and then go from there. I am including a link (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/41614270/1.PNG)to an image in my dropbox that shows 4 tabs across the top all but one i would use but the last i would exchange for a phone tab. My question is how do i create these tabs? I am using a menu based layout for most of my navigation until you actually drill down to the clients description (as seen in this image). Also the map tab needs to launch a google map that shows the location of the business and then offer directions to that business. What is the correct format to allow for this function. I am assuming i would just create image galley for the "photos" tab and then how do I link to that from the tab. Thank you in advance for any light you can shine on this for me. Cheers Jaime

In buzztouch v1.5 you must use the tabbed layout, if you are familiar with coding you could probably adjust the tabs elsewhere on the screen...i would start building a v1.5 app with tabbed layout and you will quickly see/learn what to do :)

Thanks but I should have said I am using 2.0. I wanted a non tabbed look until you land on the clients business description where then you would need the tabs for further navigation. Maybe what i need is buttons instead of tabs but I am in the dark as to how to add these as well.

So you have your own Bt-server running, have you uploaded the plugins? there is a PDF document with the download on setting it up...also look in the How TO's at the top of this page

Hi @Jamie I'd go like this: A screen with buttons only as the main screen (home if you like) and not tabbed. Each button would then link to: A) either another screen with buttons B) a tabbed menu screens. Reason: I think it's best to keep it as simple as possible, but also be aware of that Apple have a tendency to dislike when the developer goes far away from their design principles - so in order to be on the safe side, use the tabbed nav bar at the bottom. Lastly keep in mind that the "upper" nav bar as shown in your screen dump also forces the user to either stretch the fingers or use both hands in order to navigate in your app. BR/Stefan *Waving at* @ianjamespiano - long time bro. Hope everything is well you all ;)

I have uploaded the plugins and some third party plugins as well. I have everything functioning and it is mainly a question of how do i replicate the functions that you see in that screen shot. I thinks Stefan understands what i am trying to do but what i need to know is how.

Hi badblueheeler, To use/create/design something you show on your screenshot is not standard BT. There is no plugin at the moment that does this out of the box but.... You can make a custom url or a custom html. Have a look at this: http://jquerymobile.com/ (global site) and this for specific example: http://jquerymobile.com/demos/1.1.0/docs/toolbars/docs-navbar.html Hope this helps. Best Regards, Danny

Hi Stefan Without meaning to derail things, i am a newbie, and i find your statement quite intriguing, must be useful for future reference. Mind explaining how you mean this please? "Lastly keep in mind that the "upper" nav bar as shown in your screen dump also forces the user to either stretch the fingers or use both hands in order to navigate in your app" Cheers
