Something Went Wrong

I need some help here Self Hosting buzztouch 2.1.6, have installed exactly as per the instructions, but having 2 specific problems : 1) When editing the default template by changing the background colour and saving, the following error is seen : Oops, a PHP error was trapped. File: /home/sites/limetime.co.uk/public_html/BT-server/bt_v15/bt_app/bt_theme_AJAX.php Line: 39 Message: Creating default object from empty value 2) When trying to package and download my first app, I had an error message: Something Went Wrong. There was a problem finding the configuration data for this app. Ideas anyone??

Hard to know happening without knowing more. Are you having trouble with anything else in the control panel? Can you login? Can you do some thing but not others? I have never seen the "Creating default object from empty value" message.

Hi David, Yes, I can log in and create new app, all the usual things. The first error occurs when trying to modify global theme, one of the variables is screen background color. I tried to change it and save and that when i get the error message. The second error, I get when trying to download the app, I posted an earlier discussion on this about a month a go, but go nowhere. I've since removed and reinstalled BT and get the same error. Grateful for any help on this.

OK, good info. I've checked a few other control panels and can't duplicate this so it's gotta be something about your install? Dunno still. Lets do this...two step approach... a) Create a email / id pair (a new login) for your control panel so I can log into it and see the actual behavior. Email this login info to david 'at' buzztouch.com and I'll get a look. Next, after seeing the error, I may need to get FTP access to your install to get a look at the project. In this case, I'll ask you to... b) Create an FTP login I can use to get to the project on your server. We may or may not need to do this, depending on what I find and what you can do yourself? I'm happy to look at your backend and see where something is screwy but can't do much without logging in.

Many thanks David Both problems fixed. For the record, the first problem was fixed by modifying the file bt_v15/bt_app/bt_theme_AJAX.php Remove line 39: $thisPage->pageTitle = $objApp->infoArray["name"] . " Control Panel"; Problem 2 has something to do with cURL on my server setup, it's a shared web host so I don't have access to the root to change cURL functions. The fix was to quote David: Bottom line, cURL was configured and working. EXCEPT, it would not work when calling a URL on the same machine. In other words, something about the way your host is setup was preventing it (still is actually) from making cURL requests "to itself." I fixed this by replacing all occurrences of the domain name (when making cURL requests) from "nameofdomain" to "localhost" Thanks again David
