rejected because they see an empty menu (iOS)

I asked in the forum about making sure that the app loads correctly first time, but I was sent a screengrab by apple and it was just a plain menu with nothing in it. This needs to be fixed so that time isn't wasted by these senseless rejections. The app should appear exactly as it does when I'm testing it rather than an empty menu until it's refreshed. I updated the app's contents after submitting it, so I thought worst comes to worst, they'd see an 'update this app screen' and after that everything would be okay. The app opens up with a splash screen then goes straight into a quiz. There is no menu in the app. My app is very time sensitive and needs to be up asap. Please advise!

I've never had that problem, and I've got dozens of apps live in the app store. The only advice I can give is to copy your configuration data from Buzz Touch, then paste it into the BT_config.txt file within xcode. Save the file. Do a clean and build, then submit.

I did that. This has only happened twice to me before, and I think that was for a quiz app too, but I'm not sure, but it's something that shouldn't happen.

Sorry. Don't know then. The error tends to be that something isn't loading. Using the latest configuration data should solve that issue. Similar thread here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=097DC5EE22A7D2AA0D8AAF7&tid=097DC5EE22A7D2AA0D8AAF7

Only solution is to re-download the source code and re-submit your application, waiting a week for it to be submitted. No other solution. You see, you submitted the App with stock config data. This is a blank screen, basically. Users have to hit the refresh button in order to refresh the config data. Reviewers will not do this, and you will have to re-submit your application.

I was 100% sure I changed the config data, but now, it's slowly sliding down to 50% sure. I'll try that - no other ideas what it could be.

One trick that I do is to change the app ID at the very end. For example, for the whole time that I'm developing, I'll use a fitting name for the app, lets say "coolapp". Then when I am finished with everything, I'll change the app ID to "coolappfinal" and then test in both the simulator, and on a device. And I'll kill the internet on both to make sure its loading everything directly from the app. Changing the app ID makes the sim and your test devices think its a completely different app, with no chance of cache ghosts or weird behavior.

Just to add on to the above, I believe changing the app ID in your situation would require a new app in iTunes connect, and therefore a new submission. I always create my provisions and app in ITC after I make the changes in xCode.

more importantly in xCode. Only in BT if you are going to redownload the source. (which I'll do sometimes if I fear my "test" app has gotten some "junk in the trunk". With my latest app, I redownloaded the source from BT after changing the app ID, and re-added all the needed graphics, videos, etc. It made for a very clean end result with no problems.

This sounds exactly like a discussion that occurred earlier today: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=5960612A881DDC59D93DEFC&tid=5960612A881DDC59D93DEFC It's very likely a mismatch between the config file on buzztouch.com, and the one you submitted with your app. As an aside...there is no reason to download your code again after the first time unless you suspect some of the files are corrupt. Your BT_Config.txt file is the only thing that changes during app development...everything else stays the same. If you download your code a second time, the only new file you will get is an update config file. Hope this helps a bit! Mark
