App stops in Emulator after the Splash Screen

Using V1.5 Added support for SD card, debugabble set to false and ready to go to the market and now this... The app runs fine on my droid x2, but the emulator stops after the splash screen. Only reason i even need the emulator is for the screenshots of the app so I can put it on the market. Anybody have an idea why I am getting this behavior?

What software is your emulator running? It should be running API 8 if I remember correctly. Make sure it is API, not the Android version. There are some tuts in the How To's section on how to check your Eclipse setup is all a-okay. //J

Actually, what finally worked was to sut down eclipse, then shut it down from the Task Manager as well. When i reopened averything, it apparently cleared whatever cache was present asnd worked fo rthe screen shots. Truth be told, I would rather build using my phone instead of the emulator. It is a WHOLE bunch faster.

I guess there's no point in saying the BTv1.5 Android screen doesn't work. Fred

There's a bug and it'll cause the app to crash. Fred

Yes, it 'works', in that sense it's not an unfinished screen, but it'll cause your app to crash with resulting complaints on the Android Market (Play). Given the problem Buzztouch v1.5 apps have with Android 2.3.3 os, I wonder if the problem is isolated to particular versions of the os. Then again, BTv2.0 Android works so not much reason to develop in BTv1.5, unless you really need icons with your Menu (list). Fred

Apparently the BTv1.5 iOS screen works without a problem. Previous attempts by others using it in Android resulted in crashes. I proposed that the issue was the BTv1.5 Splash Screen. This was confirmed by others. Fred

man @fred, I hate to be a jerk, but I have noticed that you RARELY answer a question. Let me restate the original question: what the heck does..."I guess there's no point in saying the BTv1.5 Android screen doesn't work." Mean? WHAt pray tell is an Android screen? (as you see it) I mean to put it a different aren't all the "Pages" of a given app "screens"? That has been my understanding of the overall architecture. So once again I will ask...what are you talking about? Either you talk so "above me" that I cannot (ever) understand you, or you are, simply put, full of bunk. I get replies from you all the time, and I have yet to have one of them be worth a rip. Funny, Go Northwest, MacApple, ianjamespiano, raveyd and others who seem to be tops in the forums are aways helpful...perhaps you are so smart you have a hard time talking to dumbs*&ts like me. A hint...Sending somebody to your blog in general is not help. Sending them to the actual page where the answer is located on your blog might be help. :(

Looking back on the post I can see that I didn't sufficently reference the Splash Screen. But that's what caught my eye, and sometimes one assumes what's not obvious. However in my immediately previous post I clearly reference the Splash Screen, so I say you protest too much. As for others being helpful I agree, but you fail to appreciate that which I've brought to the table. Specifically the biggest contribution I've made has been in documenting and making fixes and issues readily available and providing proof and or source to the points I've made. As I remember when I started there was a lot of answers of which many weren't reliable. As to sending people to my Guide not being useful:to Some as you are well aware of my guide and still don't know that the BTv1.5 Android screen has a bug thats crash your app. That has been in my blog for several months. Hence your point is proven. Others, and given by Wordpress' stats a considerable number, do read my my Guide and given the many Thank You's, prove my method. So perhaps you wish to be spoon fed, verses taught how to fish, well that's up you. Fred
