splash screen, Android, v2.0

In Android v2.0 I have created a image named splashscreen.png, created a "screen" in the control panel, linked it to the theme and when I click on the app icon what is happening is a black screen appears, seems to take several seconds and then goes to my main non-tabbed simple menu. I added the image to my BT_Docs file in the source code on Dropbox and updated the BT_Config.txt prior to testing. For kicks I also tried renaming the image as default.png to see if that did anything but no luck. I am testing the app on my phone. Any ideas?

Using a url to link to Dropbox for images in Android doesn't appear to work. Apparently you can use it for iOS but not for Android. Images in Android go in res > drawable HTLM images in Android go in BT_Docs The image you use can have any name compatible with Eclipse if added to Eclipse. My_cool_image.png will not work. my_cool_image.png will work. Fred

Be sure to upload the image and export the new .apk if you're adding a new image to Eclipse / Source Code. You can update the config file or if the app is Online you can just update the app. But either way if the image was not previously added to the Source Code you must re-export Fred

Hi Fred, Thanks for the replies. I moved the image to the res>drawable folder and it crashed my app. I decided to try to re-download the source code and it works now! Yeah!

Hi every time I add a splash screen image into the drawable folder I get an error. Does anyone know why this happens; how do I get the splash screen to work on Android.

I am getting a black screen for my splash screen. V2 self hosted. Newest version. My app works, the splash screen time transition is working but the image won't come up. I have it in the BT_docs folder and the res/drawable folder. The app starts like it should just doesn't show the splash screen image. Any help would be great.
