R cannot be resolved to a variable in Eclipse

I just downloaded my src code to finally publish on google play and received this multiple times throughout the code - R cannot be resolved to a variable. The code is for one of my apps that I created last year using BT v1.4

Hi @gwt123, This is very likely an API issue. Here is a configuration guide with step-by-step instructions that should get you going regardless of your BT version: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Setting_Up_Your_Android_Development_Environment_v1.3.pdf Hope this helps! Mark

Thanks all for the prompt responses... but I created a different work around I had to change the name of my app as it had characters in it like : once I changed the name and re-download it and opened it in eclipse the errors were gone. What was confusing me was that when I loaded the project the first time around the proper 1.6 api was checked but still got the errors. George

Weird! But at least you found a solution. It's always a good idea to avoid special characters in app names....they tend to throw things off, and make package naming difficult. Best to stick with a-z, A-Z and 0-9. Mark

I know this is an old thread, but I spent several hours trying to figure this one out, so hopefully someone will benefit from this answer. For me (I'm on Windows 7 by the way), I went into the Android SDK manager (If your in Eclipse you go to Windows/Android SDK Manager)and installed the "Android SDK Platform-tools." I'm brand new at this (just started yesterday) so I don't know why this fixed my problem, but it did. Hope this helps. -Ammon
