App store rejected 8 times!!

I created an app with basic options such as an mp3 player, and a "Review" page for music, really is all I need, but it was rejected because of "Not a good user experience" so I added a quiz, and a few shortcuts for facebook, twitter and a website, then it was rejected 4 times for "Web based content" then I added a "Photo Gallery" also rejected 2 times for "Not a good user experience" and finally I added "Main office" map and an additional link to our YouTube account to view all videos available and was also rejected, I got a call from one of the review team from apple and he stated that they wanted more "Offline" content and to have more "Native" content. I'm actually willing to pay for someone to take over and help me out.

I'm curious about this as well...do all buzztouch-created apps basically need an internet connect to function? I thought I read somewhere that the user only needs to launch the app once while connected and then the content is stored locally, but I tested that theory out and it didn't work

Hi @Abstentia, You actually don't need an Internet connection at all for v1.5 and v2.0 apps. For v1.4 apps, you must have a connection to the network. Here's a document that discusses online vs. offline apps: http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/Understanding_App_Refresh_and_Offline_Apps_v1.0.pdf @pepetellez, Major bummer on the continued rejections. If you would like to send me your code package, I can compile, take a look, and offer some advice. Feel free to send it to mrkfleming at gmail dot com. Mark

The problem is that I don't have much "offline" content asides a quiz? or maybe even the gallery, but that's about it :S at this point I'm about to give up.

@Absentia, 'that theory didn't work out'. How so? User doesn't even need to update even once, if your app is up to date when uploaded to the respective app store. Fred

@Fred As GoNorthWest said, I used v1.4 for the app I'm referring to. Apparently 1.4 needs to always be connected

Over the weekend I was again rejected, crazy but I have 3 different reasons of rejection, and is the "SAME" app!! So this is it, I have escalated this quite a few times, and I even spoke to apple directly and they will only give you a very vague reason stating its not up to apple standards, user interface is not very "interactive" and that is simply web clippings. errors 12.3, 10.6 and 4.4 are the very last ones, 10.6 is the main issue apparently but how can you have several others if that's the same app?!?!?!. If anyone is willing to give it a try, i'm willing to pay.

Kind of a crazy idea, but you could try just deleting the app from itunes connect and re-uploading it completely. Chances are you'll get another reviewer who might not be so particular. When you keep updating the binary it just keeps getting looked at by the same reviewer. I saw somebody on another forum saying he does this and that it works sometimes.

I think Apple is just nuts sometimes. Doesn't make any sense what they accept and do not accept. Nobody can tell me that the original "fart" apps that made so much money are better than anything people are putting out here from buzztouch. Totally bogus. @Abstentia's idea of deleting the app and creating a new one isn't that bad a thought. Could work, especially if you choose a different category (like we discussed in email). I suspect you'll keep getting the same reviewer if you keep submitting what you have. Mark

Alright! Believe it or not, the app was finally approved!! didnt make much change asides of removing: "facebook", "tweeter" and I added custom images to my icons. The app was approved and sent to the app store in less than 4 hrs from the time of submitting. Thank's to Mark for giving me some pointers.

Using xCode customize your images before you re-submit. also dont do it too generic, buzztouch 1.4 has great images but if you customize yours more towards your own theme they may not judge it as just web clippings.

Hello! I have the same problem with my application (10.6) ... It has been rejected many times. I've made several improvements suggested by the App Review Team, but unfortunately returned today to reject. I ask you to help solve my problem. You can see screenshots at: http://www.inforneris.com/screens/screenshots.html Thank you! Emanuel
