How to disable apps you create if set up under another developer account

Hi All, I want to start freelancing and creating apps in my spare time to supplement my income. I think it is better for the client to upload the app under their developer account in Apple/ Android. And I believe Apple recommend it this way too. My only concern though would be hypothetically if the person/ company did not honor their financial commitment, would I lose all control? I assume I would still be able to update the apps using the conrol panel, correct? But would I be able to disable them if there was a dispute of some kind? Would I also be giving up all publishing rights etc? Thanks for your input! :)

Be very careful about disabling another persons app. If fd the app is in their account, it's their app. You'll need a very carefully crafted agreement to allow such action. Doing so may result in legal action, which maynot be a good place to resolve your issues. Fred

Hosting is one thing, removing from the market and or modifying via Control panel is another. You don't have to continue to provide an unpaid service (hosting). Be sure this is clearly spelled out with proper notice to avoid any issues. You may have the ability to modify an app via the Control Panel, but not the right to do so. I suppose you can take an app offline and delete the app from the control panel if they fail to pay for hosting. If it's their app and you modified and or 'deleted' their app I suppose that would be a trespass against them. Deleting their app from a Dropbox account or Market account belonging to them would be a no no. If you're hosting the app on your account then you're under no obligation to do so beyond your agreement. Are you clear about the agreement. Did you ever deliver the app if you never provided the app to them because you kept it on your account. Of so are you in violation of the agreement. So many questions, do you know what you agreement is? was? Are you certain? Got it in writing? Was that before you changed the agreement or after? Fred

Well this is the main reason why i asked if anyone had a contract that they woul be willing to share. One that they may present to a client before building an application, maybe outlying some terms like the client is responsible for providing the material and that they own the copyright to it etc the app to build will be x amount and hosting etc. Im curious to know how to do it. Ok then so i charge them say $350 or something to make them an app, i explain thats fine etc but it needs to be hosted which is lets pretend $25 a month how would i enforce they pay ? Just remove the app from my control panel and explain that no live updates will be able to be carried out etc and that there app will remian as it is and eventually become dated. Or do i completely remove it from the app market ? I suppose the latter will epends under who's account it uploaded under, I.E my dev account or theres Id assume most businesses dont have a dev account so its uner my own therefore i tech could remove it from the market. I totally lvoe the idea of self hosting etc however this is a mine field and one bad Client could shut the whole thing down so id like to cover my bases as such lol

Putting their app on the Market under your account opens a minefield. Are they not able to afford their own account? Fred
