Parse is out of beta

While waiting for integrated Buzztouch Push notifications, Parse is out of beta. free 1 000 000 push notifications/month, yippee ! Next step for me, figure it out.

wow, you need more than a million per month ? good going mate. For all apps, I think, but it's free so you could open a few accounts. Just checked, 7 cts/1 000 if you go over a million/month.

Saw that. Have a look on forum for Parse posts, it's fairly simple stuff, getting the certs right is a common gotcha.

Yep, looks cool stuff, persistent data for our apps, geolocalisation, etc. As far as I remember, MacApple, you got an app running Parse. Are you happy with it ? If one clicks the notification, can the app open at a certain screen , like "promos", "this weeks' events" or does it just open the home screen ? Asking because, I haven't implemented yet, but looking for this feature. Thanks.

I only have it opening the home screen, haven't tried anything else but it is very fast and I like the interface they provide. Very easy to use.

Hi quick question; I saw that there is a max of 500,000 views per app...I have been developing my app and so far I have accumulated 100 views...does the 500,000 include all the users who will use the app or just the amount of times I use the app on BT? also, is there a max number of questions I can enter into the BT database for a multiple choice quiz? Thanks for your help! BT makes life so much easier

Don't really need a huge amount of installs, 50k would only be 20 pushes a month. I've got a few over 50k and one over 100k, simply because they're nearly 12 months old. Pushes can soon mount up, especially if you send update alerts.

I got started with this and I believe I have the coding right, but I am not getting any notifications? There are no subscribers either in my Parse Push Notification Page. I am guessing this may be because I am running in the Sim and not on a device? Can you get push notifications on the Sim? I upgraded my OS to 5.1 on both my iPhone & my iPad and have not upgraded xcode so I have nothing to test with until I upgrade. I will upgrade and try again. Just curious about getting them on the Sim?

OK, I guess Google is my friend. No, push notifications will NOT work on the Simulator. I guess it cant register for them.

Finally finished my updates tonight and tested the notifications. Works great, and is fairly easy to integrate. Thanks for posting this. Jim
