Podcast

Does anyone have an easy idea of adding podcasting to an app? I'm using BT2.1.6 on my own server... Thanks for your help... love this product!

Maybe via an RSS/upload them to YouTube?

That's a great Idea, however we have a lot of clients who have back logs of mp3 files... it might be a bit overwhelming for them to upload them all to YouTube... is this something that will have to be custom?

hmm, maybe you could upload them for them? Otherwise, I would make an RSS with links to them all.

I notice there isn't a RSS plugin with BT 2.1.6... is that coming soon you think? Again, thanks for your assistance!

buzztouchmods.com Have a look there, they have a plugin. It isn't perfect, it has a few bugs, but that's all I can think of.

Got it... so create a mobile site that supports rss... then have the app open that site in mobile view... that might work.. Thanks!

Otherwise- most likely the easiest option- upload the mp3s in a way that they'll stream, rather than download (figure that out), then link it through a menu. Dunno, but there are plenty of ways you could try.

Well, have you tried using that link in a custom URL page?

yeah... doesn't work on the droid... not sure about iphone yet... i'll be investigating that next week. For some reason, Android doesn't pick it up in it's native player... whats even more odd is that I can put the link directly into the Droid's browser and it will play...

I did build podcats app with BT servers, what i did is. 1st i created podcast with dashcode which it's very easier to do it,then i uploaded to my own servers the podcast folder which dashcode itself generated, then i linked the URL to BT. All these works only for iOS.

I would like to include several podcasts in one of my apps. The easiest way I found to do this is by simply linking the videos through a URL feed from my own website. That way, whenever I added a video or podcast to my website, it automatically added it to the list of videos in my app.
