What is the best phone for android development?

I am an iPhone kind of guy and up until this point have only done iOS apps. I've started going down the path of making android versions of my apps and in just one day (after many youtube videos and visits to this website) I managed to get one of my apps to load in the android simulator! The simulator is quite crappy and I figured I should just get a cheap android phone to test on. Any recommendations? I don't know much about android so not sure if there is a certain screen size I should get? or most popular manufacturer maybe? Thanks!

I would consider: a prepaid phone No contract Avoid Android os 2.3.4, 2.3.3 More memory, the better, 1 GB or 2moro GB Tablet vs. Phone , I don't know, Both? A keyboard is very nice. A 4" or greater, but I'll display differently from small devices. Android os 2.3.6 seems to work well. Boost Mobile Samsung Use return policy till you get the device you're happy with. I've seen people advocating one manufacturer over another, haven't noticed much difference. Unless you're going to activate the phone avoid carriers that restrict your activity. If you're going to activate coverage might be more important. Some phones don't allow surf & talk. (Mostly Verizon). I understand you're asking about development not use, but how can you test without using. If only one device, I might go for tablet, but you'd lose telephony features. Two devices seems minimum.
