JSON Parsing Error

So I've been having this JSON Parsing error ever since I installed BT 2.0 on my server. I'm wondering... If I have BT Server in a sub folder, would that be causing the issue? Does the BT Server have to be on the root?

It does not have to be in the root. By JSON parsing error are you saying that you are unable to download the source for our app? Can you provide the specific error? Mark

Mark, That is correct... I have yet to be able to download the source for the app. The error comes up as follows: Something Went Wrong. There was a problem parsing the JSON result? I did validate the JSON code and it comes up valid. I have trolled through the forum and have tried everything they recommend... and still it doesn't work. I'm not a heavy programmer.. I can certainly make my way around but this one really stumps me. I appreciate any assistance with this! Thank you so much for your time!

a) What happens when you visit the 'view config data' screen in the self hosted control panel? Does the data show? b) What happens when you paste the config data URL in the address bar of the browser? Be sure to include the necessary merge fields for API Key, App Id, etc. Does the data show? There isn't anything secret or special going on here. The app makes a request to the config data url on your server. Your server produces the JSON. If it's not producing the json, that's the issue. I'm happy to log into your server to do some testing but will need a temporary login / password to your control panel.

If anyone else is having the same issue, it's likely the app's icon that is causing the problem. a) Make sure your API key validates in the admin panel. b) Re-upload the app icon, upload a .JPG not a .PNG image. There is a problem in the way Self Hosted control panels are processing icon uploads. If a .png icon is uploaded it is being saved as a .jpg image. This is causing an issue when the API packages your app. It fails! You can't just rename your .png with a .jpg extension, it must actually be a .jpg image for the icon. Export it as a .jpg from your favorite image editor before uploading it. We are preparing an update to the self hosted package and have added this small fix to the list.
