Thanks Buzztouch Forum... App Aproved

After one rejection (v1.4) and a rework using v1.5, with thanks to this forum the app was approved. As a core part of the app centred around a URL web site, the app was redesigned to move the focus to more of the phones native functions, which included a quiz, photo gallery, photo upload and news feed (all consistent with recommendations from this forum... thank you. Fyi, I also deleted the rejected app and setup a new app). In the end I actually felt the additional functions improved the user value experience and also offers some longer term potential opportunities. While the photo gallery was intended to be populated by user uploads, on advise the photo gallery was pre-populated to maximise initial content. It would have been ideal to have the same app on both the android and itunes market but unfortunately most v1.5 functions don't work on android so I had to leave the old version v1.4 as a poor cousin on androids. It will be great when v2.0 offers the same functions as v1.5 as i think v2.0 works consistently with both android & iphone. (see my summary post on these issues at http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=7855143E2BDE16071E334AE) http://itunes.apple.com/app/id510560799

Great job, app look sharp too. Be sure to add the app to your "published" apps screen so we can get you some attention when we start listing creations like this. Keep up the good work.

congrats, looks good. is that roster a web based site then? i like the layout of that calendar. i'm working on using the Google Calendar in an APP and trying to get it to fit nicely on the iphone screen. it's there but it's hard to read as David has pointed out before. i want to learn how to use the Google .ics feed with native iCal. also playing around with user uploads to an image gallery currently too. what did you use?

Nice one mate, congrats. ATRAIN53 I like the Flickr way of using gallery and email upload as it removes strain from your own server, is easy to delete / moderate and the email subject line populates gallery as image title.

^^ i may go Flicker for gallery (is there a good thread here you used to integrate it?) but i'm trying to integrate the Aviary SDK into my app first. that way users could edit images in the gallery and do fun stuff with them. i've got it 'somewhat' integrated - 3 of 5 steps done so far. the project is still building and compiling and i've added a bunch of stuff to it i'm learnign on the fly. so that's a good sign i think. the hard part is going to be getting a button on the bar to invoke the Aviary editor from within the app!

Hi ATRAIN53 - I used flickr with image emailer. I cant remember the details but there was an issue using the image uploader. The roster is a mobile optimised web site. I would be keen to know if that function could be provided native to the app but with backend internet connectivity for updating. cheers
