How to fix: JSON problem when DL source code

Anyone knows the solution of this problem: Something Went Wrong. There was a problem parsing the JSON result? I think I´ve tried everything, and sent an email to the Buzztouch gang. I hope I will have an answer and probably a fix for this. I have already gone through the Forum, once, twice, three times ask, but nothing of the mentioned solutions could fix my problem. Still the same: Something Went Wrong. I´m looking forward to hear from somebody. -Alf-

Probably cannot help, I'm Android. What were you trying to do when you received the error? First iOS app on BTv2.0 ? Fred

Hi guys, There have been a few fixes depending on your server setup. One is here: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=06DB0BCB08E6666 If that doesn't do it then please search the forum with the term "parsing". You'll see a few threads with the same issue that have been resolved. As always, if you still can't get it working please reply in this thread.

Parker: I use the beta-version of BT (2.1.6) on my MAC platform. It seems like the API key is well functioning. Also my DB looks fine, as far as I can see. Still have the same problem. Searched "Parsing" in the Forum, and found 14 items. I´ve been trying to read again and again to see if there were something I´ve misunderstood. I have also tried other searching phrases like "BT-server" and so on. Gone through all of them, looked specially in those topics which point to my text: Something Went Wrong. There was a problem parsing the JSON result? I can´t find any result with value to my problem. I tried the process in Safari and Firefox but I got the same message. I´ve also been in touch with my server administrator, all looks fine in the DB. Suddenly, I sent an email to your staff yesterday, with my credentials, but I´ve not heard anything yet. At this part of the time: Do you have any suggestions? For me, I love the interface of BT, I love the functionality and I would love to find a solution of my problems due to JSON. I must admit - I don´t have any more ideas about what I can try??? -Alf-

To Fred: Well, what did I do: Just downloaded the source code, after that the problem has appeared. I started in the 1.5 environment, like the idea about Self Hosting and prepared my server and BT. After that I have not had the opportunity to download source. So yeah, it´s my first app on BT 2.0. -Alf-

I would say it's something about your permissions on the server. What server host are you using? Fred

To Fred: Permissions: Maybe, I really don´t know. What in the permissions can be wrong? I use a Norwegian host called UNIWEB (www.uniweb.no). And I made a mysql DB, and all of that seem to be OK. As far as I can se. I have also been in contact with UNIWEB. So far, no results. So, I´m quite confused. :-) -Alf-

To Fred: Well, I have added Plugins, and got no errors or problems using them. And I don´t think this thread you gave me solves the problem about the JSON. But, I really don´t know. Any other suggestions? BTW: Thanks a lot for patience and help. -Alf-

Just from experience (not using error info) I'm fairly certain the problem is in the server setup. Try using my Buzztouch Forum search engine using keywords. Found in MySkylla's Guide to Buzztouch: www.myskylla.wordpress.com Fred

Hmmmm.... I´m quite confused, and think this is probably crazy. Tonight I changed my app icon from a .png-file to a .jpg-file, and suddenly the downloading of the source code went well. Is this something I should know? I have not tried the source code in xCode yet, but I´m hoping... I´ll let you hear, probably is this a well functioning solution... -Alf-

Ah, the .jpg problem. No, your probably not crazy, or at least this episode is not evidence of such. I think the problem is that computers are too smart. Your initial image may not have appeared to be what it actually was. Regardless of the label a .png is a .png even if labeled a .jpg, and so forth. Icon uploading is an ongoing problem. Fred

To Fred: But, should I then use .JPG images, or can I use the formate of .png? -Alf-

For the time being you should be using a .jpg image for your icon. After we release a fix, .png files should work. Sorry for the delays.
