App ready, but what's next?

Hei guys! Fortunately, I have finished the app. First of all, I would like to say big Thanks to the Buzztouch team because, basically, I wouldn't be able to do such a work without this homepage. However, I've got a question - what's next? I would like to test app on my phone, not only on the simulator, but I don't know what exactly I should do. So far, I've got Xcode project. So, could someone please describe me in details the next steps? I would like to test it on my phone before I send it to appstore. Thanks!

Hi @RPurnish, Congratulations on completing your first app! As @Fred said, you'll now need to join the Apple Developer Program at $99/yr. This gives you the ability to sell (or give away) your app on iTunes, and provides you with the necessary signing certificates. You won't be able to test on your phone until you get a developer certificate, but you can test on the iOS simulator, which is a good place to start, without it. Have you downloaded and installed the latest Xcode and iOS SDK? Check out http://www.buzztouch.com/resources/ for loads of tutorials on how to compile for Xcode, submit to iTunes, etc. It's a great place to start. Let us know if you have specific questions, and we can help out! Mark

Not so fast, who's your target audience? Free app? Paid app? Fremium app? Fred

I would advise once you sorted iOS status, look into android channels. As my bear friend will tell you there is a massive market. I have only started to learn from the darkside (Eclipse) but it does mean all your input into app can go to a wide audience.

Hi! Replying to Fred - I'm planning to reveal a free app. It won't cost you anything to get it. Replying to Marko - thanks for advice, but I'm afraid a bit from the range of Android users and devices. I mean, the devices are so different that, in my opinion, It's hard to create an application, which works just great on all android devices. Also, exploring Latvian market (the application target - Latvians), It won't be very advantageous deal. Ronalds

Hi @PRunish, I'm with you on the Android thing. When I went and submitted my app to the Android market, it told me it was supported on something like 1100+ devices! That's crazy, and completely impossible to design and develop for. With respect to iOS, I have an app that started out as a paid one. I then introduced a Lite version...download of those were through the roof, and it actually increased the adoption of the paid one (very slightly, but an improvement none the less). I personally hate the In App purchase stuff (too easy for my kids to accidentally buy something), so I prefer the Free/Paid model. Mark

I would love to implement in-app purchases for quizzes. For example: have a quiz with 100 questions and charge 99 cents for 100 question expansion packs. I don't have the slightest idea how to code something like that though...I imagine it's very complicated :(
