API key trouble

I´ve set up my own BT-server on my account, and everything is quite good. My last thing to do is obtaining an API key, to connect my server to the buzz touch.com API. And here is my problem? I can´t find my API key. As fas as I understood it should be free, as long as the register was before 03.09.2012. I´m wondering why this is not explained in the FaQ section? I can´t find much information about this topic in the site... -Alf-

Go to your control panel at Buzztouch.com. Click ''self hosted servers'' on left side. Click on the name of your server, it won't look like it is a link. Your key will be displayed if you have one. Tim

It´s probably me who is the problem. But, still I can´t find any servers. So, I´m not quite sure why it is like that. And I´ve tried this forum, and also tried via Facebook and e-mail, but can´t get in touch with anyone who can assist me solve this problem. So, the conclution: I probably does not have any named server, but I desperately need one. So...

On your Buzztouch.com control panel top left of the screen is your account name and ''Logout''. Click on your account name. A box will appear if it wasn't already there, the top line in that box will have the level of your account, I.e. ''Developer Account limitations''. What does yours say?

Yes, it´s written "Developer Account limitations". And some information "max apps" and so on. That´s all...

Ok, that's what it should be. Some part of the registration process was missed, or during the website upgrade it was probably lost. Go through it again, shouldn't need to reinstall the server though.

Do I then have to make a new account? And upgrade to Developer and make a payment solution?

If that doesn't work... Copied from Buzztouch.com regarding this subject: ''If you're self hosting and have not yet obtained an API key for your self hosted control panel, you'll need to get one. Do not use the account upgrade process to do this (it will charge you). Instead, use the contact us screen and tell us your story. In almost all cases we are able to provide an API key at no charge. Please don't abuse this - it's bad for everyone. An API key is one thing, 20 of them (to give to your friends) is another matter altogether. It costs us to do this and we cannot afford to support your friends.'' Contact us screen is: http://www.buzztouch.com/pages/contact.php

Well, I´ve tried via "[email protected]" but nothing heard. Also by Facebook, but no response. I probably have to wait some time, and then I get in contact with some... Thanks anyway. -Alf-

I think you might have to use that contact link. You may not be able to generate a key at this point. You have been given Developer Status apparently which gives you access to a key. The whole process has changed some with the new site, I don't see how you can do it without their backend help. They are very responsive. Drop them a note.

Remember, they are in California so it's still just 8 am there.
