Missing Location Pins in Android

I have some questions on how Location Maps should work in Android. My primary problem is that not all of the Location Pins display on my Android device. For example, on one map there should be 10 location pins. As the map is loading I see a message that pops up and says, "10 locations". But then only some of the ten display--usually three. Then, if I touch the map where I know the pin should be, the pop-up message displays, and after that the pin is displays. In addition, another pin may appear when I touch a nearby pin. One more question--the User Location Button and the Map Type Buttons do not appear like they do on the iPhone. Are they supposed to work on Android? They aren't necessary, but are a very nice addition if possible. Thank you all for you help! (The name of the app I am working on is Minneapolis Lakes FREE.)

Hi Susan, Is it possible that you have the zoom level of the map set to close in order to see all the pins at once? It doesn't sound like that, since you say it shows loading 10 locations, but it's a place to start. Also...are you doing this on an emulator, or live device? There are some limitations doing it on the emulator since it can't initiate the "location sensor" or whatever Android calls it. Mark

Hi, Mark! Do you work all of the time? Thank you for responding so late! All of my maps have multiple locations, and I don't think the Zoom works with multiple locations. They are set at the default of 12. This is the message on the map behavior screen: "Single Location Default Zoom level is only useful if the map has one, and only one location. It is ignored when maps load multiple locations. Use this setting to control how far the map zooms in on the location. 1 is very far, 28 is very close - zoomed in." I'm on a live device, but it isn't a phone--just an Samsung Galaxy player. Even though it isn't a phone it seems to do everything fairly well on WiFi, now that I figured out the MapKeys (due to your documentation...Thanks again!). The directions work perfectly. Because of how it eventually loads as I wake it up, I am thinking that it may be a problem with the speed of this device.

Hi Sue, I love hanging out in the forums...probably spend too much time here! I don't work for buzztouch...just a huge geek follower. Good point about the zoom...forgot about that. Have you tried running your program in the emulator to see how it works? If it is related to the speed of the device, perhaps it'll work there. You could also shoot me your download package (you have my email) and I could check it out? Mark

I have had no luck with the emulators--the only one I got to work at all was on Google 2.2 API Level 8. On that one, only two of the pins would show instead of three. Like on my device, when I clicked on the screen, some of the missing pins would load. Thank you for offering to look at it for me! Please don't feel obligated. I will send it over in email. Thank you for everything, Mark!
