I looked at the godaddy db setup that @Trendz85 has. Its a little hard to tell what the Host name should be for the DB. DB name is there, user and password are known. Its just the host name we beleive that is the issue. Can someone look at the Godaddy settings and post what they have so it can be compared. You can change a few values if you wish to hide the real settings. looking more for the format of the settings... This would be appreciated.

Don't worry someone will step in and let us know what should be there based on the godaddy db panel settings.

Be sure they put you on a Linux box, put me on windows by default. FYI - moved to Host Gator, easier to deal with, no prob installing Server.

@trendz85. Well that makes some sense now. Was it a windows box or just not the right DB package?

Needs to be LAMP Linux Apache HTTP Server, MySQL, PHP. Thats why you had a problem with the DB. They should be able to switch you quickly. Hell they are just VM's....

well i wanted a package where i can make multiply websites etc and after a brief chat with there support team they advised that a virtual dedicated server would be much better tthe ability to host multiple domains etc etc. I think the main issue here has bee the DNS propogation much later on i could then see the page and run the install etc just still get the line 68 config php error lol

I believe that can be caused by not having the write permissions correct on your DB. There is an instruction in the install guide regarding this. I have found that some FTP programs can, and some cannot change the permissions correctly. The host's control panel is most likely your best bet to ensure it gets changed correctly. It will not default to the correct setting, at least it wasn't with GoDaddy or HostGator.

I do think it needs to be a LAMP setup. Meaning Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. Not sure other DB Work. That was not a MySQL DB. Are you saying they can't give u a lamp server with mysql. I have setup a few of these all of them lamp of course with no issues.

Your DNA was the first issue and that's cleared up. Now it's the type of server that's your problem. Grt a lamp server and I can have it up for. You in 30 mins.

It WILL NOT work on a windows server. Dave tried for days to get an early install attempt of mine to work on a windows box and we couldn't get it to go. Switched to Linux (LAMP stack) and it was done in less than an hour.

I'll go back through my emails when I was trying to get it to work with them. I think we got it to work before I decided to drop them. I'm not 100% sure it was something other than permissions, but I think it was, and it was something weird. I'll get a look at it today.

Went back through about 50 emails back and forth between David and I. I was incorrect, we never did get it to run right (although some have possibly). We gave up and moved to HostGator, I was up in 23 minutes according to a slightly obnoxious email from me. Good luck.

Ok, go to Buzztouch, not your new Server panel but your original Buzztouch panel. On your main account page find ''Self Hosted Servers'' on left side. Click it. Under the Self Hosted Servers box is the name of your server, whatever you named it. I named mine ''Bad Ass Server''. No, that doesn't matter, just thought it was kinda dumb and a little funny. Anyway, short story long... Click the name of the server even though it doesn't look like a link. Your info will come up probably with some incorrect setting you entered while screwing around with GoMommy. Hit modify and change whatever is wrong. That should do it... I hope. Tim

and.... just realized I forgot the last step. After modifying the settings, copy the API key and put it in your Server panel under Admin --> Settings.
