I followed the steps and it wont work I added the image in flicker (public) And then i copied and pasted the image url into te appropriate field and the image doesn't show up on the iphone simulator. Please help

OK, well, that's a good debug step. Assuming you did that on the same computer that you're running the simulator on, we at least know the image is capable of being seen. Try this : open up your app in the simulator, and get the debug information that shows in the debug console. Copy and paste the details here so we can see what Xcode is complaining about. You only need the info from right before you expect to see the background image to right when it fails. Are you sure you have the URL link in the proper entry line. Meaning its in Small device URL and Large Device URL and not in the spot where you would put the image name only. I did that a few times. Take a look at the screen once more and verify that its located in the correct entry.

Hi, So, I'm not entirely sure how this is supposed to work with Flikr, but what buzztouch is looking for is a link to an actual image...something ending with .jpg or .png. The link above, when I paste it into my browser, brings me to an entire web page. That won't work for a background image. I also tried it in my test app, and got the same result. One way around this...copy the image to a DropBox public folder, grab the URL for the image, and plug it in to the advanced properties for that screen. I've done that, and it works brilliantly! Yep, DropBox works for sure! But you can use any web address at all, so long as, in this instance, the URL ends in, or resolves to, an actual file instead of a full page. The problem here was that buzztouch was looking for a file, and instead got an entire site. I suspect this is all possible with Flikr, we just need to figure out how. Mark

I thought they had and option on Flickr to share with a link individual pictures. I don't use so I'm not really sure. Dropbox is easy but you just don't get the gallery view like Flickr.

I think you can use Flikr for populating an image gallery...I know for sure people have done that. But, a single image for a background is a different story. Mark

OK...I got the background thing on Flikr to work this way: * Log into your Flikr account (I think you can only do this with images you own, which makes sense) * Go to the photo you want to use * Above the photo click Share...Grab the HTML/BBCode...then grab all the code * Paste that code into an editor somewhere, and grab the URL for the image. It should look something like http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5250/5354982009_41f0f9d01f.jpg. Notice that it ends in .jpg! * Paste that URL into the background screen image info for your screen, and hit Save. You should be good to go now! I believe this will only work with images you own. I didn't see the "Grab the HTML/BBCode" option for other images, only ones in my photostream. Hope this helps a bit! Mark
