Saving a word document on iPad

Hi All, Im building a new app that has several templates. One is a plug and play HTML and the other is a .PHP file template that requires internet to access the template from my server and generates a word document upon submission. Is there any way to save or email that document after submission from within the app. My problem is right now if i back out of the page, i lose all the inputted data. I can see the bad reviews already. Any Help Would be great.

Not totally sure I understand this approach. Seems sound just not sure I get it. You can't email anything in iOS without user interaction so you won't be able to email the document without asking the user to use the built in Email Compose screen. Probably a bad idea. It seems to me that you would want to UPLOAD the file in the background. Because I don't understand this totally (your approach) it's hard to say when you would do this. For sure you can upload the file anytime you want, with or without the user knowing it's happening. Maybe... a) User visits form and enters values to be merged into the template server-side on submit. b) Server gets the values and saves the Word Doc. c) User leaves the screen. d) User re-enters the screen but the document is "blank" again. Not the desired behavior. d-2) User re-enters the screen and it checks the backend to see if the document already exists (the one they merged a minute ago). If it does, it downloads and displays that document instead of the blank entry form. Comment if I'm missing something.

David, So heres the breakdown.Feel free to take a look it you would like at the app. Its called iDJTemplates. Server side does not save the document but only populates word file. a)The server side template, if used on a pc or mac, would populate an option box to open, save or cancel the modified template and then generate a word document. Save file to the desktop and done, PERFECT! Problem: When I hit submit on my ipad for that same server side template, it populates the word document without giving me those same 3 options, which in turn does not allow me to save it anywhere. I need to save that word doc with the users inputted info. Can this be done from the app itself? If not, do you have any suggestions? Thanks Anthony
