Icon urls on menus do not show any image

I have a 1.5 BT App that is now totally non responsive if you try to add small pictures in icon url. Text is ok but images are completely ignored. I mention it in case someone has a fix. Thanks.

Where are your urls? Dropbox? Are you Android? Fred

Hi Fred, glad to hear you. I am ios and for sure I tried my site url and the internal BT Docs referencing. No problems with Header images, it's just the icon urls in the menu list that do not show up at all, no matter what. If I were the only one with this issue maybe I will look at caching retention somewhere. Otherwise I am really lost. Thanks for your consideration.

Menu (List) BTv1.5 works. I suspected you were using Dropbox & Android since Dropbox image url doesn't work. Images hosted other than Dropbox works in Android. Try hosting images elsewhere. Fred

I'm having the same issue with 1.5 iOS and using named images and dropping them in to BTimages folder in Xcode .

@Magister, that the text is showing up means the update is going thru. Try adding the images to large device. Fred

No, never used Dropbox, I have my own site on a good server. And icons urls do not work even with internal references. The fact that I am not alone could mean something.

Yes indeed, header images are ok and so is text. (The desperation made me try all possible combinations.) The code goes wrong solely on icons urls.

There are serious issues with some class of image referencing, now that I look better. Most likely It is at code level. Like the icons issues experienced soon after the BT switch. Hopefully some solid brains will look into this.

Per GoNorthwest it works in iOS. Send him a reqest for assistance. Perhaps it's a problem with how you're using the website. Fred

I never sent a request for assistance, how would I do it? Thanks a lot Fred. Diego.

You made me laugh, (after a very tense couple of hours) Thanks. If it does not fix itself overnight, I might indeed call for help. Somehow:)

Now my problem along with the icons not showing is the menus are not working (taking me to their screen). . I re-downloaded the source to no avail. Is there a function in Xcode that clears the cache? Excuse my ignorance here.

Just verified that you can have a Menu List icon in iOS, with the image being in DropBox. Here is the proof: 2012-03-14 17:19:23.867 testapp2[1088:ae0b] BT_fileManager: File does not exist in Xcode bundle: apache_trout_menu.jpg 2012-03-14 17:19:23.869 testapp2[1088:ae0b] BT_fileManager: File does not exist in cached directory: apache_trout_menu.jpg 2012-03-14 17:19:23.870 testapp2[1088:ae0b] BT_item: downloading image from: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4993711/azfishingspots/menu/apache_trout_menu.jpg 2012-03-14 17:19:23.870 testapp2[1088:ae0b] BT_httpEater: downloadURL: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4993711/azfishingspots/menu/apache_trout_menu.jpg That being said, I'm not entirely clear what the problem is, @magister. Do you have menu list images specified as a local file (and added to Xcode), or as a URL? Mark

Thanks Mark for looking into the issue. I can report (after a sleepless night) that the issue above seems to be resolved by creating a new list. In other words Buzztouch is sensitive to caching issues (only natural given the way it works) and to the order in which actions that involve images are created. Do not stray from certain conventions and it will work. (In all it's glorious awesomeness). Thanks to Fred and Mark for caring. It is very appreciated. Diego.

Hi Diego, Glad you got it figured out. Caching can be both good and bad. Many screens in buzztouch give you the option to Force Refresh, which would always update the cache. That might be something worth looking into. Let us know if you have any other questions! Mark

I think I missed the force refresh screen feature. Where would I look for it, exactly? Thanks. Diego.

Hi Diego, It's not available in all screens (because it doesn't make sense for some), but if it's available, it's generally in Advanced Properties > Document Behaviour. Mark

Thanks Mark. I will make a big note of this. As always my gratitude goes to the few people like you that with a biblical amount of patience reply to this very diverse community of users. Diego.
