Cached documents

I've got a problem with "document behavior" management with a .pdf document. In the field ".PDF URL / Web Address" I set an URL. In the field "Force Refresh" I set "No, allow caching". When I use my I pad for testing the app It works only on-line. I think the App is not able to cache the pdf document. Can you suggest me a solution? Thanks Gianluca

Could you write me other details? When I add the .PDF doc (.pdf embedded in the Xcode project) It works. When I try to use a URL It works only if the ipad is online. I need to use an Url 'cause I need to change the pdf document often. Thanks Giandolmen

I'm not iOS so I might not have a solution for you. Your problem reminds me that PDF files didn't cache in previous BTv1.5 apps. In BTv2.0 you can use PDF via url and the PDF will download. Not sure if and how you could update the PDF from the apps perspective. Another possibility would be use of HTML via URL. Convert PDF files to HTML. Fred

How big is the app? How many PDFs? Will you know the changes in advance? Fred

Thanks for your answer. You confirm me that PDF files didn't cache in previous BTv1.5 apps? I use 14 pdf files in the app. 13 are embedded, and with these I have no problem. For the 14th I use the Url mode.... but the cache doesn't work. Giandolmen

In BTv1.5 Android they didn't cache via url. The BTv1.5 Android PDF Screen doesn't work. Can you convert the 14th PDF to HTML? How far in advance will you know about changes? Are you just changing to a different PDF or updating to new data unknow at this time? Fred

I wonder if it is a problem with document behaviour caching in v2? I have a similar problem in other screen plugins. In the custom/html and custom url screens, I have noticed that if you try to set the "No, allow caching" property in the "document behavior" advanced settings, it always reverts back to "yes, force refresh" after I save. I'm using ios and v2 on buzztouch.com.

I haven't noticed that, will have to check it out in Android. Fred

I am also having the same issue in V2,"No, allow caching" property in the "document behavior" advanced settings, it always reverts back to "yes, force refresh" after I save. Working with Android, actual device test confirms screens not caching.
