Account Upgrade Explanation

A message will show in your control panel if you registered for BT before March 9, 2012. The message is an explanation about our approach to the "grandfathered in" plan. It's not ideal for everyone but the vast majority of users should be happy with the approach. If you're not, contact us - let us know the sitch' we'll work something out.

David, Presumably if we need a 2nd API key for our own use (as I will need soon), we will need to pay? I'm happy to pay for it, I'm more than happy to support BuzzTouch. Just checking though! EDIT: Actually, I might wait and see how this point system develops... // J.

I have developer account and I already feel proud but I feel I need some more plugins. What can I do for that?

@Biplov, easiest way would be to invest in BT Server, and then start coding some of dem plugins :) As far as I'm aware (although I don't use the BT hosted panel often), you can't upload your own plugins to the panel.

That's a pity. Email me at javed (at) atomicapps (d0t) (c0m) (d0t) (au) I might be able to hook you up with an account on my server.

Hi guys. I am up with BT server. Need API to test. Not able to pay the monthly subscription as I am more of a hobbyist. A limited api will do. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I just logged in and saw the upgrade. Thanks for your support for older members. :) Our application is still under development and I'm not sure if our application will stay under limits of the current account. I know app views would be enough for the beginning, but our application will probably have more than 100 pages due to it's structure. We have a group that explores different restaurants every week and the app will be a restaurant guide. Considering the fact that we need at least two pages for every restaurant, plus other pages, we would prefer to start with our own hosted server from the beginning. Can I get an API key if it's ok for you? If you want, I can give you more detail about our application and our aims. (And a small question: is there a way to upgrade v1.5 apps to v2.0?)

Wow!!!! I'm learning I can't stay away too long because things change fast. Buzztouch gang, I sent an email about my account which I have been sharing with a now ex-business partner. The email is from my That Other Tour email address. I'm guessing you get a ton of mail and would like for you to be on the lookout for my email. Thanks

Hey David - currently I am relying real hard on self hosted (way before the site update!) - is there any way my account could be Self Hosted and not Developer? Like javo said, I would be happy to pay - but if I can save 30 bucks a month that would be really helpful! I'm not sure whats going to happen to my current key since the website update - I am guessing I will have to pay eventually and be thrown out of the grandfathered club? It seems to still work thank god! please email me back or respond - thanks so much, and a great job with the new site - makes me a little sad that I am self hosted - this design is awesome! much love to the bt gang, David.

@MrDavid: What's the difference? We upgraded all the accounts to Developer so you could use the BT site to create apps without worrying too much about the # in your control panel. If you are making apps on your own panel, and your API key is working, you'll not be gaining anything by switching your account to Self Hosted - right? Stick with Developer and use your API key, it's the same thing. I say this because switching only get you an API key, which you already have. If it were an easy update in our backend system to change your account type to Self Hosted we'd be happy to do it - it's not, it's more complicated than that ;-)

@javooooo: Didn't see the email, someone else may have and didn't add one for you. See your panel, new API key should show in Self Hosted servers section. Update it. Use it. Smile.
