A story of frustration - Expired Developer Certificate

Long story sort of short... a few days ago I found my iOS Developer Certificate had expired. Tried the usual renewal method through Xcode with no success, then through the slightly more involved process through the Provisioning Portal and Keychain with no success. Then after pulling what little hair I have left out and trying every procedure the good folks at Google could find for me I smashed my iMac with a forty pound sledge hammer and decided I'm better off without this aggravation in my life. So, all of the above is true up until the iMac destruction part. This is where I actually sent a slightly sarcastic, moderately rude, exceedingly lengthy service request to Apple Tech Support explaining the whole deal. Less than 12 hours later I get this response buried in a long form letter: ''We believe the Distribution Certificate issue has been resolved through changes on the Provisioning Portal.'' Huh? So I open Xcode and hit refresh in the organizer, just like I did about 50 times during the previous day... Behold! Ye spanking new Developer Certificate! Moral of the story? ''Once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.'' ;-) Tim Wolf

Do you ever go the the Provisioning Portal on developer.apple.com? This website has worked flawless for me.

There was an issue with the portal yesterday that was fixed today. All certificates were rejected and it would return an error. However I was having the same thoughts as you until I found the topic in the apple forum as I wasted about 2 hours.... magnus

Doh! Didn't think to check the Apple forum! Yeah, my follicle count would be higher today had I thought of that. Tim

Awesome story! I still can't access my Sales and Trends page, continuously getting an error saying it isn't available. It's been a solid week and all I've heard from Apple is "We're looking at it...".

Yeah, the sales and trends are pathetic at best. If the only reports I could get out of my A/R department were those that Apple provides, I'd have a job opening at my company. Sent them a suggestion as to what basic reports a business owner would like to see about three months ago... I think their giveashitter wasn't online that day. (pardon the redneckism)

The Sales and Trends section seems to be delayed a lot on Mondays.

So, Apple's uptime depends on the user?

Jake, this happened after i transferred my account from personal to company, so I reckon they messed something up in the process.

Not really, you have to prove you are a legit company blah blah. You can just make sub-accounts. But I wanted to change my publisher name, from my real name, so it was the only way I could do it.
