New Push not working for me

Need some help please... I recompiled 2 of my iOS apps for the new version of push using freshly downloaded source code. I loaded them up on my test device in design mode and the device did register on my BT console. So now the device is on my BT console in live and design mode for both apps. When I send a push to devices in design mode, it goes out without a problem. The problem is that the push never gets to the device. it DID get there before so I know that the certificate and device are good. Do i need to delete the device from the control panel and reregister it? Anyone else having this problem? I also tried sending through the live portal with no luck. Thanks Dave

I haven't implemented push yet; still waiting on 2.1.8 self hosted... But David put out a bit of info on recent changes... Maybe one applies? https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=52A6E6262A9A044B4EB9548&currentPage=1 Cheers! -- Smug

Yeah saw that. Thanks Smug. I'm probably just missing something that's staring straight at me.

Hi Dave, I'm in the same exact spot you're in. I've recompiled an app with new source this evening, went thought all the Apple dev portal provisioning and certificate creation, added the .pem to the Buzztouch console and I'm stuck just where you are. When I run my app on the iPhone it asks if I want to allow push notifications. That would seem to be a good sign. I see the device registered as a design device with a token in the Buzztouch console. That's a good sign too. I can go through the steps to send the Push notification, but it never gets to the device. Ugh. Leads me to think the notice is never leaving the Buzztouch server, but there are so many steps to this process I'm always worried I've messed something up. Has anyone successfully sent Push tonight to dev devices from Buzztouch today? Thanks! -William

Try reading through the steps in this Push Notification guide, perhaps a step was missed? I've not tried PN since that guide was published. I will report back if things don't work on the new updated PN. https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/BuzzTouchiOSPushNotifications.pdf Also, please let me know if the Guide needs an update. -- Niraj

I'm still having the same problem. I started over on an existing app and followed Niraj's (excellent) guide very carefully in order. I've now been able to successfully register 2 development devices to this app's Push page and I see the two device tokens available in the Buzztouch console. I would think this is a very good indication that things should be working. However, when I send the Push notices form the Buzztouch console the notifications never get received on the devices. I'm completely frustrated at this point. @Calypso Kid - Are you still having the same problems? Thanks, William

Great to hear. Since our experience seems so similar, hopefully when it's resolved for you, it will be fixed for me as well. Please keep me posted! -William

Holy Moley! It works! I made no changes to the app I've been working on and that was deployed on on my test devices. I tried sending another Push Notification to them and... Success! "Smile" is right! More like "Happy Dance!" Thanks so much David!
