Need to get plugin created. Probably need to hire somebody to help me..

Hi All, I am not a programmer, and I have created simple frameworks for my apps using BT. However, I am planning to work with a few companies at the moment. Mainly recruitment firms and estate agents. They all have small database directories on their websites. I want to be able to use their existing databases on their websites and direct the APIs etc, so I can have a simple search screen implemented in the app, which will then pull up data (job and property listings) on the app and look like part of the app. I am hoping I can get some help doing this/ building the plugin/ getting the code and then I can learn how to customise the code for each individual app. Will this be a big build/ complex job? A friend said that you can actually find a lot of the ready made/ code APIs on the web (e.g. - https://github.com/sync/iphone-real-estate-application/) and can then copy and paste the code but the issue is I am not a programmer, so I would have no idea how to implement the code and incorporate it with my existing BT project.. Willing to pay someone to help create the code/ link APIs, teach me how to implement with existing BT project and how to customise each project.. Would really really appreciate it! A very lost Chacka 7.. Thanks xxx

Chacka, My advice on this as a fellow non programmer is to perserve firstly. On a job I was asked for help on in similar industry was to find someone with php and other database skills. The recruitment firm wanted each rep to be able to dynamically update there client list remotely. I am OK with websites but I felt the client trusted me in many matters and I would be best outsourcing it. When I saw the resultant work from another party it did not look beyond my skill set to have learnt, and would have been a useful learning process. For me I outsourced this but there is such a rich vein of people here that I think they could help guide you into constructing a plugin. Mark

Thanks Mark, yes I really hope someone can help me! In a bit over my head here!! I reckon that I am too much of a non-programmer to try and figure it out myself from scratch and will end up just getting too frustrated and waste time but if someone can help guide me, I could probably figure out how to re-create it in future and it would be a good learning process.. Hopefully someone will respond...

Hi Chacka The balance between input and reward is hard to validate when you are trying to make a living. I once worked out that the time and expense for me putting up a fence which I was falsely proud of as it leaned more than pisa was 4x the cost of letting the professionals do it. However in relation to apps each stage I have learned is a fundamental skill that cements a big future, I can now knock up a quick company demo app in a day, integrate external data, and I am starting to understand David's data. Once you get to the point that you are happy with you can outsource with knowledge of how the process is done and that you are outsourcing due to choice not necessity. Mark
