Edit Screen Size so display looks like device

It would be great to have a editable screen size so that on Custom HTML you could have a display to see what the text and image format would look like on device, and any presets with popular devices would be a bonus

That's one of the beauties of developing with BuzzTouch. As quick as you can make changes in the control panel, they will appear in the simulator. I usually use an external editor (or xCode) for all HTML anyhow. It would be a neat feature. But I think the sim (whether iOS or Android) would always be more realistic and current.

There are many emulator skins (for Android) available for free. I use an HTC Wildfire skin, amongst others, which exactly replicates my phone. App screens appear exactly as they would on a device.

Thanks for the guidance is there a skin that would cover most common Android devices? And for Android Tablets is the Samsung Galaxy the most used?

Hi Marko, I did some research to resolve the Android Virtual Device skin question as well, and pretty much gave up. There are just too many Android devices out there to deal with. If you design for one, it's likely to get messed up in another. Doing tablet makes it even worse! The descriptions of common devices I found dated back to around 2010, which makes it hopelessly out of date at this point. So, I stick with the defaults that come with Eclipse. Mark

Another way, that needs a bit of time, research, trial and error is to visit the phone sites, eg samsung, and get the specs for their phones and replicate the specs as closely as possible during an emulator set up. Choose a base model, a top end model and a 10'' tablet for example. They should cover most scenarios. Having said that, as Mark says, there are just too many devices, all of them with modified OS's and their own functionality that may affect apps in many and strange ways. I think it's probably impossible to build an app that looks right and works properly in every Android device.

I think this makes you a advocate for the iOS light side. Fred and his Android bullies have been taking my lunch money, now with my melon headed friend we can take them on.
