App is titling itself buzzTouch and not the the name I have given it

I have created several apps in all Buzztouch versions. However, when creating a new app in 2.0, it self-titles itself (case match) "buzzTouch". I'm not sure at what point it is creating this so that I can fix the problem on my side, if it is on my side. I understand that Buzztouch is going through many changes right now and I am waiting patiently.

Not sure I understand where you are seeing "buzzTouch" ?? The app you create is named that? The server pannel name? The logo at top? If that's what you mean then that is a image within the templates used. That can be changed... I'm confused.... But that's nothing new....

You can change that on the server at /public_html/BT-server/files/theme/logo.png

Sorry about the confusion. The name is located underneath the icon after I install the app on my Android.

Core properties and then Application Name to change that

Core properties and then Application Name to change that. When you created the app as part of that process you name the app. It should not let you get passed that screen without doing that. And I think that is the name that goes on the device under the icon...

Yes, I have named the app in both places in the core properties, however it changes when the app is installed. I checked and double checked while compiling the app, but to no avail.

I would try re-downloading the source. The next few days will be rough since they are working still on the site. So many strange things can be happening.

Hi, The icon title that you see on your device is configured in the CFBundleDisplayName property in BT_info.plist file. You put whatever you want in that field, but limit it to about 12 characters, or you'll get a lot of dots. Mark

I'm having the same issue. The title under the app icon shows "buzztouch" instead of the app name. Can't seem to find the BT_info file that was mentioned anywhere :/ This is on android.

The BT_Info.plist file is located in BT_Config folder for iOS projects. In Xcode itself, if you load up your project, expand the BT_Config folder, and click on the BT_Info.plist file, an editor will come up on the right-hand side. Look for CFBundleDisplayName, and change the value. Hope this helps! Mark

Look for <string name="app_name">XXXX</string> in res\values\strings.xml which is part of your download package. Mark

iOS: Could not duplicate issue. App name under icon appears OK after download. Android: DID duplicate this issue. App name under icons was showing as buzzTouch (large "T"). Figured it out and fixed it. Re downloading your source should show the right name. Or, like @GoNorthwest mentioned, you can manually change it in res/values/strings.xml, it's the first entry in this file. The XML node name is "app_name" and the value is "buzzTouch" change the buzzTouch part to your apps name, leave the app_name value alone.

Re downloading the source code fixed the problem for me. Great! Thank you!
