Xcode won't recognize iphone. Could it be 5.1?

All of a sudden my xcode project won't recognize when I plug my iphone in. Could this be due to the fact the I upgraded my phone to IOS 5.1 but have not yet upgraded Xcode to the latest version/ If so it's a bummer since I'd rather not upgrade Xcode quite yet. Always fear bugs in new releases.

Hmm, sounds plausible. About to do something really stupid. Updating my test phone to 5.1, will advise.

I was reading a similar issue in the apple dev forums, You have to install the latest SDK.

I installed the latest xcode on lion, only thing was it only installs 5.1 simulators by default, just have to add the others. Seems to be bug free so far for me compared to 4.1 xcode.

Well crap. Below is the answer, cut and pasted from the horses ass, ahh I mean mouth (xcode organizer)... The version of iOS on “Tim's iPhone” does not match any of the versions of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here. OS Installed on Tim's iPhone 5.1 (9B176) Xcode Supported iOS Versions Latest 5.0 (9A334) 4.3 (8F190) 4.3 4.2

Arubaman, How do you manually add the other simulators?

Well the update worked and my phone is recognized. And it all went unusually smoothly. Also, it's a long update, through the Apple app store and it may look like nothing's happening. If you go to the Purchased tab, however, you will see the download status bar.

And just a reminder. I find the the latest SDK from apple has to be restarted every now and then. So when I start having issues, it's the first thing I do.

What do you mean by restarting the SDK?
