Monitor hits and users of app

Thought I'd share this since its was asked a while back. Heres a method I've used on all my apps. Sign up to Statcounter (www.statcounter.com - its free unless you want to increase your log size). You can monitor as many of your 'pages' as you wish. Use a separate project for each app. (1) Create a new project in Statcounter (2) Click the 'Default installation' which shows the javascript you need to install on your page (3) Copy the code (4) Paste this code at the bottom of your page just before the </body> tag. On the BT this simply means pasting the code at the bottom the html source code Thats it. The only thing it will not do is tell you if it is a new install. For this I guess iTunes Connect is the best bet but the metrics you can get from stat counter are extremely good and far more detailed than iTunes or Google. It's 'real-time' monitoring except for a second or so for the statcounter server takes to catch up - so I can check by the minute if I want to who (IP address and server location - no personal details) is visiting which page etc (beware it can become addictive!) For example, I can see which 'pages' are the most popular or the order in which they are visited, length of time the users spends on each page etc etc and if necessary tweak the app accordingly. All my apps use this code and have been approved by Apple and Android so there is no problem in using it. Hope it helps David

When you say in the BT in the bottom of the HTML source code, are you referring to the Custom HTML screen! The manifest? Fred

I think this only works on html pages. I use Google Analytics which has an iOS module you can add to your app. You can then add it to places but it requires code modifications. Works great!
