Android eclipse error v 1.5

I am new to Eclipse and Android. I would like to take my existing iOS and put them in the Android marketplace. I have downloaded project code with no problem, but Eclipse is telling me when I attempt to run the simulator that my project has errors that must be fixed before running. I get this error message: ERROR: Unknown command 'crunch' Android Asset Packaging Tool Usage: aapt l[ist] [-v] [-a] file.{zip, jar, apk List contents of Zip-compatible archive. aapt d[ump] [--values] WHAT file.{apk} [asset [asset ...]] badging Print the label and icon for the app declared in APK. permissions Print the permissions from the APK. resources Print the resource table from the APK. configurations Print the configurations in the APK. xmltree Print the compiled xmls in the given assets. xmlstrings Print the strings of the given compiled xml assets. aapt p[ackage] [-d][-f][-m][-u][-v][-x][-z][-M AndroidManifest.xml] [-0 extension [-0 extension ...]] [-g tolerance] [-j jarfile] [--debug-mode] [--min-sdk-version VAL] [--target-sdk-version VAL] [--app-version VAL] [--app-version-name TEXT] [--custom-package VAL] [ [--rename-manifest-package PACKAGE] [--rename-instrumentation-target-package PACKAGE] [--utf16] [--auto-add-overlay] [--max-res-version VAL] [-I base-package [-I base-package ...]] [-A asset-source-dir] [-G class-list-file] [-P public-definitions-file] [-S resource-sources [-S resource-sources ...]] [-F apk-file] [-J R-file-dir] [--product product1,product2,...] [raw-files-dir [raw-files-dir] ...] Package the android resources. I am using Google API 2.2. Any ideas?

It you're using the Source Code from a BTv1.5 iOS app that is more than a very basic app (one or two screens at best) you'll run into lots of problems trying to use it for Android. Read MySkylla's Guide to Buzztouch and pay particular attention to the non-function Android Screens. www.myskylla.wordpress.com Then when you delete all the screens that don't work in Android, you'll have to figure out how to get the ones that do work to display properly in both Operating Systems. Your best bet is rebuild the Android app using BTv2.0. Fred

Fred, I read your blog. It was very helpful. I fixed the project and added virtual libraries. Then when I attempt to launch on a virtual device I get the following error: [2012-03-11 09:11:50 - TCTCEA] Performing com.tctcea2.BT_activity_root activity launch [2012-03-11 09:11:59 - TCTCEA] Uploading TCTCEA.apk onto device 'emulator-5554' [2012-03-11 09:12:00 - TCTCEA] Installing TCTCEA.apk... [2012-03-11 09:12:02 - TCTCEA] Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY [2012-03-11 09:12:02 - TCTCEA] Please check logcat output for more details. [2012-03-11 09:12:02 - TCTCEA] Launch canceled! Do you have any further suggestions. Thanks for any help you could give. Brian

Yes, my advice is don't use the VD. Do you have an Android device? Fred

Then you have two options: Buy a android device ($100+), or Get the VD working for initial testing, then buy device for final testing. The VD is good, but it's a headache. So, start by adding memory to the VD. Then add external memory. Then make the app installable to SD card. The first two steps are in the VD setup. The third in modification to the manifest. Fred

Fred, I have followed the steps on your blog (it is a great resource). I bought a used Droid off ebay and have installed my app to it. I am currently having 2 issues: 1) as soon as it launches it keeps telling me that the apps data has changed and would I like to refresh. This seems to occur in an endless loop. I thought I fixed the Death Wheel, but maybe not. 2) I have a login screen and it will not allow me to login. Any insights you would have would be greatly appreciated. Brian

Regarding loop: That's a problem that I didn't see before the new site, perhaps it was there, but not recognized. Solution: don't know one. Source of problem: uncertain Possible remedies: Update config file and republish app. (export .apk) Add install to SD card. Fred
