Problems testing on iPod

I tested my app on an iPad and iPod simulator, and everything was working fine. Then I had to update xcode in order to be compatible with my iPod...I went through the wonderful code-signing procedure, and now none of the buttons work on my ipod. I went back and tested on the simulator, and it freezes at my splash screen (which is the default*.png, not a BT splash screen). So basically neither the simulators nor the iPod are working. Any advice? I'm wondering if this is due to the xcode update?

Just to clarify, buttons on my home screen, as well as the navigation bar aren't working.

Sometimes my dev devices freeze on the loading screen, all I tend to have to do is whack the home button and re-open the app. You should try hard-resetting your iPod, as I have had to do that a few times, by holding down the lock and home buttons for 10 seconds. Your device will restart. Apart from that, ensure you have all your development/debugging certificates downloaded & installed, and that your iPod is registered in your Provisioning Portal.
