Hi All, I have had an app that has over 220 screens that just got rejected the third time. I have used various types of screens. Jake

Hi Jake, Sorry to hear that. The Apple submission process can be a pain, but that is the cost of getting into the App Store. The process is also affected by which individual happens to be reviewing your app at the time. Sometimes the reviewer is very strict with Apples rules, sometimes another reviewer will let stuff pass. It's all subjective and out of our hands. The best we can do is try to address what they claim the issue is, and try again. Stick with it, once your app gets in you'll see the benefits of being in the app store. Also, maybe consider sharing why Apple rejected your app this time? I know others on here will be willing to share how they addressed those issues.

An info app. That could visit websites, call people, book travel, see videos, view a gallery, find info, currency converter, and a translator.

I can't tell you exactly what apple said because iTunes Connect is down, but here is a summery: You need more iOS functionality, you could consider building a web app. I will post the full details when iTunes Connect comes back online.

I'm surprised that your app got rejected. You might consider removing your app from iTunes Connect, then resubmitting it. This way, you should end up with a different Reviewer. Just a possibility. It sounds like your app is fairly functional (very similar to one of mine that was approved, actually) so I doubt that more content is needed. Your best bet would be to copy us their reason, it usually sheds some light on what they want. Maybe it was your UI?

I submitted an update, it got rejected, i submitted the SAME THING and it got accepted! Different reviewers = different perspectives on the app!

Ouch. Do you have a screenshot of the app? Could you clarify the features? For example, do you have native functionality such as maps, call us buttons, email us, SMS us, share, etc? If they are whining about not having enough "lasting user interest" then I certainly would add some eyecandy in terms of a quiz. If you can email me a screenshot of the app, or the bundle I can take a look and see what you can add. My email is javed [at] atomicapps [dot] [com] [dot] [au]

That actually doesn't look to shabby at all, I have no clue what Apple are complaining about. I'd say thats above par to what I typically see being accepted here at BT. One thing I would recommend is maybe removing the night time screen- apple might get confused and be looking at the barebones black and white. Also, you might consider reskinning the home page to something less in-your-face. Maybe use some greys instead of pinks & purples. Just a few ideas. // J

Thanks, you have my email if you need any further help. No clue what apple are complaining about, apart from the home screen it looks amazing! Their content aggregator part is true, I suppose, though, as you can google the names and find out the phone numbers etc. I'll think about some stuff you could add and get back to you.

What category is this app in? Seems like an ideal app for either the Reference category or Entertainment Category. I'd probably go with the first. Do you have a location map with directions? That's taking advantage of native iOS functions. Mark

If you click on a pin on the map, does it gives you the option to get driving directions? That is a serious use of iOS functions. Mark

Hi Jake, When you create a location in your location map, you have the choice of loading another screen or getting driving directions for that point. Choose the driving directions. Mark

Thanks. Do you think that this is possibility of why they rejected it: My app has native calling functionality, but on an iPad, you can not call. So they say that my GUI is not practical because if you have an iPad, you can not access half of the app. My solution is to make it an iPhone only binary. How would I do this (make it only available for iPhones)?

Hi Jake, In the Build Settings for your project, look under Deployment > Target Device (doing this from memory, so I may be off). Then pick Universal (iPad/iPhone), iPhone or iPad. Something like that...again, from memory! Mark

I don't think you can restrict iPod. However, Apple generally test on iPhone and iPad only so you should be right.

I've made several improvements suggested by the App Review Team, but unfortunately returned today to reject. I ask you to help solve my problem. My app has been rejected 7 times, always in point 10.6! The last information of App review is: " Reasons for Rejection: 10.6: Apple and our customers place a high value on simple, refined, creative, well thought through interfaces. They take more work but are worth it. Apple sets a high bar. If your user interface is complex or less than very good it may be rejected Specifically, we found that the app has a poor navigation, the home tab simply displays an image and the user is require to tap the info button to get company info. Also the app has limited features, most of the content is loaded from a server. Additionally, the app has pixelated images. " I don't understand why? Please, if you have an solution for me, tell me!! Thanks!

Here is what I think. Your app looks good, but on the "Home" tab, there is nothing but an image. It is possible that this can confuse users, they sometimes can thing that the app has not finished loading and will wait on the home screen until something happens. When an app loads, Apple would like it to display something for the user to do, for instance, if you remove the "Home" Screen, and in it's place put the "Events" page. Can you make a list of everything the app can do? (Screens/Actions/Text/...) Jake

Hi! * In tab "Home", we have a button "i" with information about my client; * In tab "Eventos", view an list events with thumbnail image, description of event and date of event. If will touch in event, open an image of this event or photo gallery. * In tab "Historico", view an list with many artists, and if you touch in, open a photo gallery. * In tab "Info", view a few buttons (call a phone number, send an e-mail, access to facebook, and map with location and trace route). The date of events could be shared with native calendar and the photos could be shared with native photo gallery. Thanks!

What I would do is put an Action on the "Home" page. Sometimes apple likes more than just 5 things an app can do.

Do you think if I did a feature for assessing the rate of blood alcohol estimation was something interesting and could be an asset? See the screenshots I took in (yet lack the graphics / design): screen 1: http://www.inforneris.com/screens/8.jpg screen 2: http://www.inforneris.com/screens/9.jpg Thanks! Emanuel

I was looking for what I could improve on my application to the App can pass the point 10.6 of the App Review. And I thought to see what other applications that are already in the app store and are of the same gender (submitted this year) had different or better. Do not come to any conclusion. Otherwise see: http://itunes.apple.com/br/app/o2-nightclub/id482919945?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/br/app/platinum-nightclub/id398100283?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/throb-nightclub-mobile/id494901668?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sincity-nightclub/id483900186?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nightclub-finder/id514428716?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vanity-nightclub/id483901939?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/seven-night-club/id514328722?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/night-club-digital/id535072300?mt=8 http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fitzgeralds-nightclub/id504880661?mt=8 If anyone knows what's different or better and can you tell me, I would appreciate! >The Apple submission process can be a pain, but that is the cost of getting into the App Store. Could you please define what I could get from an app store which costs all these efforts? I mean, I submitted a simple app, mostly to find out if it's possible to sell anything via Apple and also to make a portfolio. And the sales could probably allow me to buy 1 glass of beer in a pub. But I can't say that the efforts I put in, cost that "much" From the viewpoint of portfolio I also got nothing, the possible jobs don't care. I submitted another app which is more effective from the viewpoint of the special effects, etc but Apple rejected it..

I also have the same rejection reason as the author, apple suggested to add some buttons or something. But I dont need any buttons, I use cocos2d and everything I need is done via cocos2d functionality!

I also got another reason for rejection which is "your app contains content that many audiences would find objectionable" And I don't have a clue what they mean by this! Maybe I should first finish the course to be able to read people's mind

And one more question: how much time in average it takes to start a revision of your app? Apple's web site says that in average it's 8 days, never happened to me so far.

I believe that it is 8 days in the line for review. Depending on how much you need to change, it could take hours-days-weeks.
